Maybe Vincent has still not grasped it. Clubs would pay 50 million for a striker who could score 20 prem goals. If he spent 15 mil and had a return of 12-15 goals then that would be a very good buy, 10 mil? Might not get much for that these days unless Warnock pulls a rabbit out of a hat like he has with Zahore, who could get 12-15 Orem goals.

Vincent Tan is correct here in his point. We'd just been promoted to the premiership, that season was about staying in the premiership even if only by one point. We were not in a position to fork out ten million on a "project".
