Cardiff 1 Huddersfield 0 Last minute goal from Hudson.
Brighton 0 Cardiff 0 Lucky to come away with a point tbh.
Bristol City 4 Cardiff 2 An awful performance.
Cardiff 3 Wolves 1 Whittingham saved us on that one.
Cardiff 2 Leeds 1 Great goal from Bellamy and Maynard won us a penalty but we did not look like Champions then.

We have won 5 more points but most importantly we have deserved every single one of them points.

Got to agree, its very very early days but under Malky we were very well drilled and played effective football rather than good football - But it worked, cant fault that season.

Whats impressed me most about the start of the season is the way we are playing, such a turn around from last season. We now have pace through the team and plenty of options on the bench, always look capable of scoring. We have been unlucky not to get more goals in most games this season.

Still very early but what a start to the season, long may it continue.

The big difference though is in the quality of the teams. This one would murder Malky's lot.

Absolutely.

I don't want to knock that squad, as they did bloody well for us, but no way they'd go up in today's Championship playing the same way they did then.

Let's be fair and give MM some credit - He came here and had to build a squad with what 10 players or so was posted at the time when he got the job ,

NW has had over half a season to do TEAM BUILDING - And has done a fantastic job to date .

It was from NOVEMBER to the end of season when WE BECAME HARD TO BEAT THAT SEASON :bluebird:

NW - Best we have had since MM -

There's always a flip side to stats..... You have to go back to Warnocks QPR team since the leader after 5 games went up automatically.

Its still early days

Automatic promotion

10/11 QPR 1st, Norwich 7th (Cardiff City 2nd)
11/12 Reading 20th, Southampton 2nd
12/13 Hull 4th, Cardiff 5th
13/14 Leicester 5th, Burnley 3rd
14/15 Bournemouth 11th, Watford 2nd
15/16 Burnley 9th, Boro 6th
16/17 Newcastle 4th,Brighton 8th

Your right, people got short memories. To this day I haven't seen a harder working CC side than MM's though the football was turgid. To say that MM's side wouldn't compete in today's championship is silly.

Malky did a great job under the circumstances and no one can take that away from him. But whilst some people are somewhat criticised for forgetting that, it was his off-field conduct/antics that were his downfall ;)

I will always praise Malky for what he brought us in terms of success, if not style, on the pitch but I will never praise him for hoodwinking some pretty loyal fans once he knew the game was up and (more importantly to me) why it was up! :(

Didn't we go on a massive unbeaten home run in the season (2012/13)? :?

Seems to recall 10+ successive home wins from the start of the season? :ayatollah:

The quote was "no way they'd go up in today's Championship playing the same way they did then."

Of course that is just the opinion of the poster but it is one I agree with. Football goes in cycles and around 2013 it was niche for clubs to play what Sven-Göran Eriksson dubbed the 10-0-0 formation :laughing6:

MM being a defender by trade revelled in that kind of attrition. It was awful to watch but at the end of the day MM was paid to deliver success (i.e. promotion) first and entertainment second.

However, even though only 4 years have passed the Championship has moved on massively. MM side would still be competitive and hard to beat but it certainly wouldn't be top 2, with at best a scrap for the final play off position.

It was 2-1. I remember Dwight Gayle scored for them. And they were bottom at the time...we've always struggled against Peterborough, remember being 4-0 up at HT and it ended 4-4

God knows where I dreamt up the other 2 goals from :laughing6: My memory of that game was we got hammered :? so that says a lot about my grey matter.

The 4-0 up at half time ending in a 4-4 draw was a classic Dave Jones blunder. Indeed from what I remember :!: Peterborough could have got a 5th in injury time. Apparently Boro did a roaring trade in the DVD of the game because so many of their fans f**ked off home at half time :laughing5:

Malky got us up as champions and to Wembley where we only just lost to Liverpool.
Warnock is a great manager, but we haven't won any titles yet!

Helguson cleared the ball with an overhead kick and the ref gave a freekick against us for dangerous play which they proceeded to score from.

We lost 2-1 home to Peterborough was just before Christmas 2011. It was the end of a fantastic run in a game we all thought we'd win.

The classic 4-4 draw was just after Christmas 2009. I'd never seen our fans so angry that day

Malky had the WHOLE of the previous season including the Summer prior to build his team. Much more than NW's half a season.
