BREAKING NEWS ' NEIL WARNOCK SPEAKS OUT TODAY & UPDATES '

Friday 15th September 2017

:bluebird: Here are the key talking points. :bluebird:

Lee Camp and Callum Paterson are both expected to play for the Under-23s in their next game against Burnley :thumbright: :thumbright:

Warnock admits lingering transfer talk hasn’t helped Kenneth Zohore this season.

The Cardiff boss admits the majority of his side were struggling at Preston due to fatigue.

Any injuries?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"NO." :thumbright: :thumbright:

"Paterson had 45 minutes last week, he’ll have a full game at Burnley on Monday, we’ll play three or four might play, Camp with a bit of luck will play, which only leaves Kadeem and young Rhys on the injury front so long may it continue.”

Neil Warnock on the lingering transfer talk surrounding Zohore

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I don’t think anything like that helps"

" It’s no good me bull, or whatever they call it. Powdering over the cracks or whatever you say. I don’t think it helps does it. The agent should think himself lucky that I’ve made him the player he is because he was going back to Belgium and the agent wouldn’t have made a penny but that’s another story.”

On Preston defeat

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’ve watched it since and they were up for it."

"Take no credit for them. I thought some of the tackles were x-rated, they decided to play the long ball and got away with a few nasty tackles. They were trying their hardest, and people like Gunnarsson, you can never say he’s complacent, and they just weren’t quite there.”

Warnock on the defeat to Preston

NEIL WARNOCK:

"They were tired - it’s not an excuse but we were four days out of five on the bus on the motorway. You think in the modern day you could have a computer to sort the games properly. I felt sorry for the fans, but we never started the game or in the game at any point so we move on.”

Regret not making changes?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"You can’t when you’re winning. But that morning, two or three looked lethargic, but I could tell in the first 10 minutes in they haven’t had the energy they normally have. One or two can be loss of form, but not when eight or nine.”

Nathan Blake said loss was the best thing to happen. Agree?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Sometimes you need that to bring you down to earth."

"The fixture list whets the appetite, the next three games are probably against the best three teams in division at the moment and then we go to Sunderland next week. I’m pleased they are these type of game because we know they’re going to be good games and if we’re not on our game we’ll get beaten. From a personal point of view, Wednesday is special one for me, it always has been.”

On his history with Sheffield Wednesday

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I always enjoy going up to Hillsborough and the welcome I receive there."

"They’ll bring a tremendous amount down and it’ll be a good atmosphere, but our fans will play a massive role in the next three home matches. The sound when the stadium when is buzzing is unbelievable and we need them behind us in the next three home fixtures.”

On facing the Owls

NEIL WARNOCK:

"They’ve been so close."

"I thought last year if they’d beat Huddersfield they would have gone up. I like Carlos, I think he’s a smashing man, and they play good football. It’s the type of game you looking forward to, I can’t see it being a poor game, I think there’ll be excitement.”

Neil Warnock reveals why he's a Sheffield United fan

NEIL WARNOCK:

I" was born in Sheffield and I’ve always like the underdog, when I was a young lad, Wednesday were the best team in the county from what I remember. I went to watch Santos with Pele, the family was split, but they were always the favourites, so being the black sheep of the family I wanted to be the underdog and that’s how I ended up becoming a Blade."

"I always have banter with them, every time I go there, I love it. It’s a special time for me, with all my family up there."

"My missus and daughter are coming. Unfortunately one of my best mates passed away, he was a mad Wednesday-ite. Tony, he had cancer for many years, and he lost his battle. Before he did (pass away) I said I wouldn’t let him down.”

Neil Warnock's verdict on the possibility of making changes to his Cardiff City side for Sheffield Wednesday clash

What went wrong for Cardiff against Preston?

Neil Warnock has revealed those on the fringes of Cardiff City's first team are all pushing to impress as he hints that changes could be made for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The Yorkshireman shouldered the blame for the Bluebirds' hefty 3-0 defeat to Preston at Deepdale on Tuesday night - a loss that brought an end to Cardiff's unbeaten start to the 2017-18 Championship campaign.

Warnock conceded it was difficult to make changes against Alex Neil's side as the Bluebirds had claimed 16 points from their opening six league outings.

But the manager remained coy when pressed on whether or not he'll make changes when Carlos Carvalhal's men come to the Welsh capital on Saturday afternoon.

"You can’t (make changes) when you’re winning," said Warnock.

"But that morning, two or three looked lethargic, but I could tell in the first 10 minutes in they haven’t had the energy they normally have. One or two can be loss of form, but not when it's eight or nine.

"You’d think with a loss or a defeat, I’d give one or two chances.

"On the Wednesday I was like a zombie myself, I just fell asleep. They’ve played two games in four days and I could understand.

"There hasn’t been any words really, the lads who are not in the team are all pushing to impress me. Whether I put one or two in you’ll have to wait and see."

Summer signing Danny Ward has featured in all seven of the Bluebirds' league matches so far, but is yet to start a single one.

His only two starts came in the EFL Cup, although he did score his first competitive goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Deadline day signings Liam Feeney and Craig Bryson have both made their Cardiff debuts off the bench already and will be among those - along with the likes of Lee Tomlin - pushing for a starting spot against the Owls.
