Reasons for defeats.

Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:32 pm

Has anyone else noticed that we rarely, if ever lose a match because the other team were better than us on the day. More often than not the reason we lost is simple, it was all down to the ref. If it's not the ref, we just had all the bad luck and the opposition should have had at least 10 players sent off. Looks like we could'nt really blame the ref last time out as it sounds as if he was just generally bad for both sides. Not to worry though, the opposition did not beat us because they were better on the night, their ground was too far away and we were tired out by the time we got there.
I hope we can return to winning ways tomorrow, and keep up our good start to the season. If we lose, it will be interesting to see which reasons we can come up with for another defeat. One thing is certain, there is no way it could be that the other team were better.

Preston were the better team on the night no doubt.

There may however be mitigating factors in a poor performance from us, but credit should go to them for taking advantage of it.

agree.
there is defo home advantage in football, and the away team having to travel id imagine is a part of home advantage... it should even itself out over a season.in fact we have already beaten Sheff United on a tuesday where it was a 2nd away in 4 days for them.

honestly mate..this happens only 2 or 3 times a year and in an age where clubs spend millions on wages. chattering 3 flights to newcastle/blackpool/leeds bradford shouldnt even be up for debate..6hours on a bus ffs.
personally i think this division should go back to its traditional {pre late 80s } 22 teams as it only grew to 24 as a side effect of the top tier reducing from 22 to 20.

Definitely.
If we had 2 less sides then that would be 2 less midweek aways and homes, which are a nightmare for most fans.

It's not helped by the constant international breaks, which with so many internationals now playing in the Champ are having a massive affect.

As for flying, yes, we certainly should have done that for Preston.
