Former England footballer Wayne Rooney was wearing his wedding ring when he arrived at court to face the drink-driving charge that has put his marriage in crisis.

The Everton striker, 31, was wearing a dark suit and had his hands in his pockets as he walked past journalists with about a dozen police officers and two security guards surrounding him.

Wayne Rooney has arrived in court this morning charged with drink driving

Was stopped by police while driving 29-year-old party girl Laura Simpson home

Rooney's return to Old Trafford ended in a crushing defeat for Everton yesterday

There is no doubt Rooney has acted like a right prick and will rightly face a fine/driving ban and possibly see his marriage end. There is no defence for his behaviour.

However, as the saying goes 'he who is without sin throw the first stone' and the truth is we have all got our skeletons in the closet. I just hope he puts this stupid moment behind him and finally grows up.

Hate the law in this country sometimes anyone caught drink driving should b banned for life IMO. Have no sympathy for those people putting others at risk.

All the money in the world, a beautiful wife and children and that is still not enough for the thick scouser, he deserves to have the rug pulled from under his feet.

He's s****** grannies and tried it on with all sorts of slappers like the latest ug mug he was caught with.

Colleen will take him back because of their history and the money
