I dunno!

Why is it always our away games moved and why is it always from a weekend to a week night?

Now means a day off work to add to the normal expense of going to an away game.

After the relevancenof the game Sky broadcast the games of away teams where they have the most subscribers.

So the Cardiff catchment area probably has a big potential viewing audience for them.

Annis, we should still get a decent amount of support there.

As you say, tickets are only £20 which is great value.

One of only two away games in December as well.

Ned, I honestly don't see any reason why 3,000 plus City fans won't be there :bluebird: :bluebird:

It will stop some, but then, theres plenty who say they can't make Saturdays because of work/park football etc

When I lived in Castleton it took me 1hr & 10mins to get to Reading's ground. Vince Alms coaches not leaving till 5pm :thumbright: :bluebird:

Its straight up the M4 just of it :bluebird:

Sheffield United/ Leeds United travelled in big numbers to us on a Tuesday night, Reading is up the road for many in my opinion and easy for the hundreds of London City fans as well :thumbright:

I've also heard it could be as low as £5 for under 16's great value. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Thomas, it should actually give us a bigger away following as fans can work and leave from work, plus no kids at park football.
Many Neath/Port Talbot Bluebirds are going to this one and still going to work :bluebird: :bluebird:

Exactly Annis, I think some fans just like to make excuses regardless. Think we'll pull a big one as we always do at Reading and I agree, would be better atmosphere under the floodlights - much prefer it! Nice cold December night :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Another Sky fixture change

Postby Tonteg Bluebird » Tue Oct 03, 2017 2:18 pm

Reading away has been switched from Saturday, 9th December to Monday, 11th December for Sky TV. So Sky have selected our most popular away game, one of only a couple of away games we have this season under 2 hours travelling time away and changed it to a Monday night. Thanks Sky! No fans get dicked about as much as us! :banghead:

Annis, I agree we should have a big following regardless of the change of day - especially if we’re still doing well. We had a big following at Man Utd on a midweek night in January a few years ago.

And for fans like me, these days can be better due to sometimes having difficulties with Saturdays. Like you say, you also have those who can go to the match after work and be back for a reasonable time.

Great ticket prices.

Think you are dreaming lads.

Would have sold out on a Saturday.
Monday evening kick off will be a nightmare.
Takes an hour to get across Cardiff , never mind past Newport and Bristol.

Would have taken 2 coaches on a Saturday, a few of us would even have taken our wives.

On a Monday live on Sky will be lucky to fill one.

Having similar issues with Brim on a Friday night, would have had a full bus, maybe more on a Sat, but Fri night live on Sky probably just 30 of us.

Pain in the arse.

Wouldn't even have minded a 12.30 or even better 5.30 ko on at Saturday, or a Sunday ko, but for families and people with jobs where they have little flexibility this makes life very difficult

Ned, Other clubs fans go away and don't seem to make any excuse they can, we have a big enough following to take the places of those that can't make it.

In the Premier, we had three Away games in 10 days and we sold out at all three.

I like how we are doing well and then they want to show more of our games, and how they don't care about putting fans out having to travel on a Monday. I still think we will get a decent following as it's not to far and a reasonable price, but sky are shit bags

The difference is Leeds have the 2 Sheffield's, Barnsley, Preston, Bolton and Hull around them. Each of those trips can't be much more than 1 hour away.

Then there is Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Nottingham, Derby and Burton which are all shorter than 2 hours away while Villa, Birmingham and Wolves are barely 2 hours as well. That's half the league, so I'm sure Leeds fans won't be overly concerned if a few of those games get moved, as there are still plenty of other local away games around for them.

What do we have? Unlike Leeds, every away game will be over 2 hours minimum for us. Bristol City away will be 2-3 hours with the police involvement, so our next nearest is Reading, which is the game Sky have chosen to move!

It doesn't surprise me, I will never forget Sky switching our Premiership game at Sunderland to midday on a Sunday! The fixture lists mean nothing these days. It's pointless looking forward to any fixtures with Sky interfering and spoiling everything!

Totally agree, I know it always sounds like excuses but we get screwed over a lot to compensate for tv or other reasons. Bristol city is good example and a good reason why people can't be bothered, it really shouldn't be that difficult to get to that game.

if you think reading away is going to be difficult to get too wait till the Friday night game next week against Birmingham . can take you 2 hours just to get out of Cardiff/ newport by car / coach on a Friday afternoon then once your up the M50 where you join the M5 it's usually bumper to bumper from strensham services to the M42 junction , once on M42 it's manic northbound on there just before birmingham

expect a long journey next Friday afternoon for those travelling to birmingham . if it was a Saturday would take 2.5 hours max . oh the joys of live sky/bt sports football !

Thomas, it should actually give us a bigger away following as fans can work and leave from work, plus no kids at park football.
Many Neath/Port Talbot Bluebirds are going to this one and still going to work :bluebird: :bluebird:

Night games are always the best atmopsheres :thumbright: :bluebird:

It's Friday night so traffic through port talbot and newport a bit of a headache.
half a day off  Neath port talbot bluebirds will be there if its played on the moon. :bluebird:
