This is why top six clubs want to change distribution so they get bigger slice of cake! They are expecting sky money to stagnate so want keep their income up its just pure greed rich get richer poor get poorer so less competition for elite. :o

they are fighting for what they see as a fair share. surprise surprise the small clubs want an equal split, but the top 6 obviously want a higher share commensurate to the increased audiences they drive. the argument is that the equal split is ultimately what makes the league interesting and watchable.

news flash - american owners like the glazers, FSG, kroenke, and even the lot at swansea and palace, aren't here because they love football - they are businessmen who bought these clubs on the basis of TV revenues going up and up - notice how there has been next to no investment in each club. each different club are simply acting in their own interests.

although its being tagged as a top 6 thing and its obvious its the bigger clubs wanting a bigger slice of the cake, what has actually been put to the clubs is that 35% of the overseas pot gets distributed based on league positions the other 65% equally shared amongst the clubs.

yes, but as you know in reality it has the same effect. league position based prizes perpetuate the status quo, like champions league money and exposure. teams like man u / liverpool / arsenal are where they are because they enjoy a financial advantage over the others - the point many would argue is that what makes the premier league different from others is the fact we regularly have upsets. this plan further stacks the cards against this happening....

The problem is its the 6 richest clubs that want bigger slice! So by definition theu will get richer while other 14 clubs wIll play for the cups if they are lucky? This is stemming from the fact they believe sky money as reached saturation point so they want to get more money and overseas rites are increasing so using barca/real model is way to do it. :old:

i do see that point of view.
but also see the arguement for some of the pot to be based on performance.it is the top of the table games that draw the audience and adverts after all.
its being reported that...the top 6 want a bigger chunk ...which suggests there is a self appointed top 6 that want this money which isnt the case, its not even the case that the 6 that finish highest get the 35% amongst themselves. it will be shared in various amounts from top to bottom.

It doesn't matter which club the money ends up with because the final destination will be the greedy pockets of agents and players. If football has a financial problem it's there.

Article states top 6 richest clubs as it stands now want bigger slice of cake surely that means they get more and other 14 get less of the money? And if succeed Whats stopping them doing same with sky money? Like barca/real? By your example using city v leeds as guide there was 800k viewers? Put man u in place leeds sky get 1m viewers so they would say entitled to more money than city as drew bigger audience. Like said rich will get richer poor get poorer its that simple.
