The only way is nobody buy their tickets and to leave them out of pocket and perhaps they will think twice in the future about ripping people off.

Just report them. It's illegal to sell them for more these days.
Tickets will then go back on general public sale

Sadly, individuals (many of whom can afford it) will see to it that doesn't happen. The usual "I was there at the point of glory" suspects will be out in full force desperate to get tickets and sadly some will be ready, willing and able to pay!

In the meantime, the touts will take full advantage, as no one (including the authorities) seems to care about them and/or what they do anymore!

im torn on this one..yes in an ideal world those that deserve get..but i ended up buying tickets off viagogo for the Belgium quarter final in Lille...and tbh was chuffed to be able to..
i was a member. had watched all the home games in the campaign { not ST holder, i bought my tickets through my local club as the FAW were doing a money back schemes for clubs buying tickets..so i supported my country and my local club ..trouble was the FAW had no record of where the CLUB tickets went } also did 2 aways..watched 2 group games in france { through UEFA ticket portal } the NI game having had tickets off the ref.but failed misserably for Belgium tickets.
i know i wasnt alone in this on going hunt for tickets either, all my mates were in same boat . most like myself at some point bought black market..

It's a way of life here in the USA as it's totally legal to sell on tickets for whatever you can get, there are plenty of websites dedicated to selling on tickets & the NFL even has their own. Some people make a good side income buying season tickets and then selling them on to opposing fans, prices vary wildly by the game and who is playing who but by using a verified website they are guaranteed to be real, this was the only way for me to get tickets for the Raiders against the Packers a couple of years ago but at least there was no need to risk them being fake and there were plenty to choose from.

By outlawing it as in the UK is when people will end up getting scammed by fake tickets & touts whereas here you can at least guarantee your ticket will be real.

Just a different way of doing things & a different perspective everyone to consider.

You and dogfound make good points and my own was concerning the post saying (quote): "Nobody buy their tickets" :thumbright:

don't see the problem really - if people are happy to buy the tickets at the price then thats capitalism for you. what you shouldn't do is complain about the prices and still pay.

how many of these people overpaying now were watching us a few years ago?

You're far too sensible for this forum, I agree completely. If I had a spare ticket, and someone was willing to give me £200+ for it, then crack on, happy days!

I thought I was moving abroad so didn't buy a Wales Season ticket for the qualifying which means it's been hard picking up tickets. If I had some spare I'd give to my mates for face value. Failing that, maybe I would sell for more? Not sure.

But I have paid over the odds for tonight, slightly begrudge paying it but will be worth it if we win :occasion5:

Spot on. By making it legal and controlling it, you limit the opportunity for scams and illegal situations.

I buy Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors and Toronto FC tickets second hand all the time when I pop out to Canada, have NEVER been scammed or paid massively over face value.

Good idea but what about the touts who can buy hundreds of tickets in one go before joe bloggs can get hands on them? Then sell at inflated prices, does this happen in usa?

To be fair, I'm not sure. But most of the time it's people's season tickets that are sold on a game-to-game basis. The season ticket holder is protected when selling. I've pretty much had a paper ticket version of someones season ticket. So the season ticket holder has their season ticket blocked for the game they advise that they're selling the ticket for.

That's what premiership cubs do ticket exchange for ST holders who cant go to games ! Not sure be worth it outside premiership clubs like arsenal manu Chelsea ect who charge several thousand £££ for ST , selling tickets like tonight to someone you know is fine but on social media? Definitely not. Wru clamped down on it years ago and now can get tickets on open market for most games as rugby clubs know get banned if sell on tickets for profit as use to do.
