Former Cardiff City defender Jazzi Barnum-Bobb joins Torquay United on loan from Newport - Devon Live

Thursday 9th November 2017

Torquay United have bolstered their defensive options with the singing of Newport County’s Jazzi Barnum-Bobb.

The 22-year-old has joined Plainmoor until January 1 after playing three times for the Welsh side this season.

Barnum-Bobb joined Newport from Championship side Cardiff City in 2016 and most recently played in County’s 3-0 loss at Notts County on October 28.

He could make his debut for United during Saturday’s home match against Maidstone.

Gulls head coach Gary Owers said: “I’ve watched him over the years and he’ll give us good options in different positions.

“He can play anywhere down the right side and I want competition for places in all areas of the park and he will help us do that.

“He’s come into the squad and he’ll be in contention for Saturday.”

Meanwhile striker James Gray has joined York City on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old was initially on loan at the National League North side, but has joined permanently in order to gain more first-team football.

“We wish him well,” said head coach Gary Owers.

“He was on a short-term contract and I gave him the opportunity to go up to York to play games. He’s got himself into a position where York want to offer him more security.”
