Hereford have signed youngster Tyrone Duffus from Cardiff City on a loan arrangement.

11/11/17

On the club’s official website, non-league outfit Hereford announced the arrival of Duffus on a loan deal until January.

Tyrone Duffus puts pen to paper on a short term stint at Hereford and this move is subject to international clearance, as well as FA approval.

Hereford FC, a phoenix club formed after Hereford United were disbanded, currently ply their trade in Southern League Premier Division after winning promotion last term.

Duffus will be tested with some senior football in the seventh tier of English football – three divisions below the Football League and five leagues below the Sky Bet Championship.

The former Everton academy product, whose brother Courtney plays for Oldham Athletic, is an attacking midfielder who will look to gain some valuable experience whilst out on loan with the Bulls.

He will be available for Hereford’s FA Cup and FA Trophy matches, although he will not be able to take part in the latter today due to paperwork completion issues.

The 20-year-old joined the Bluebirds recently having spent four years with the academy at Everton.

This loan move will be the next stage in his development.

The Verdict

Neil Warnock is obviously quite keen for Duffus to spend some time out on loan, gaining senior football and getting one step closer towards bridging the gap between under-23 and first team football.

Although he will be playing at a considerably lower standard than Cardiff do, this experience will be invaluable in Duffus’ long-term development.

He could make his debut against Stratford on Tuesday night and he will be raring to go and eager to impress.
