SUNDERLAND BEGIN MANAGER SEARCH

13/11/17

Sunderland have held interviews over their managerial vacancy, Sky Spots News understands.

Rooted to the foot of the Sky Bet Championship, the club feel it was important to do their homework prior to interviews taking place, and are keen to take their time over the appointment and ensure they find the right man to turn things around.

We understand Ally McCoist and Paul Heckingbottom are two of a group being considered but it's unclear whether either has been interviewed for the post.

Robbie Stockdale is now in sole caretaker charge after his fellow caretaker Billy McKinlay left to join David Moyes at West Ham last night.

It remains to be seen whether Stockdale will be in charge for Saturday's match against Millwall.
