EVERTON MANAGERIAL UPDATE

14/11/17

Everton have once again been frustrated in their efforts to find Ronald Koeman’s replacement after they were unsuccessful in their latest attempts to land both Marco Silva and Sam Allardyce.

And that means that interim manager David Unsworth’s chances of remaining in charge at Goodison until the end of the season, continue to improve.

SSN understands that any chance of Allardyce becoming Everton’s next manager disappeared over the weekend when the former England manager said he was no longer interested in the role.

Renewed contact between the two parties was made on Sunday, but Allardyce felt the contract on offer from the Merseyside club – only until the end of the season - was not enough to tempt him out of retirement.
The latest development follows news that Everton made contact with Watford for a second time on Monday morning, which included details of the compensation they were willing to pay, only to be told that Silva would not be allowed to talk to them – and would be staying at Vicarage Road.

We understand Silva would be interested in talking to Everton. However the 40-year old’s two-year contract does not include a break clause and consequently their efforts to secure his services are at an end.
We also understand Everton are so far yet to make any contact with Burnley or Sean Dyche’s representatives.
