The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have rejected Adrien Silva's application to join Leicester on a provisional basis.
The Portugal midfielder had appealed to CAS after FIFA blocked his intended move from Sporting to Leicester, as it fell outside the registration period.
The £25million Deadline Day deal with Sporting Lisbon arrived onto FIFA's Transfer Matching System (TMS) 14 seconds after the transfer deadline passed on August 31.
