:bluebird: :bluebird: ' NEIL WARNOCK TODAY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS ON ALL THE LATEST NEWS ' :bluebird: :bluebird:

Wow. Warnock has just spoke extensively about Freddie Gounongbe and it looks like the forgotten man could be ushered back in from the wilderness! There’s no better time to grab your first Cardiff goal than this weekend, Fred.

January business?

NEIL WARNOCK:
"I don’t think we’ll be doing much in January. The main thing is to get all the lads who are injured back to fitness. If we can get everyone back to fitness we have a squad good enough at this level".

"We have seven lads injured or suspended and it’s a big loss, but it shows how far we’ve come that we have the back up and still have a decent team."

NEIL WARNOCK:

"If I didn’t sign a player I still think we’d have a good chance of being in them play-offs, with the injured lads back. A lot will depend if we lose anybody, be it long-term injury or anything, you don’t know what’s around the corner. We are looking at positions we might improve, because you always have to be on step ahead."

" Warnock reveals over all he's Only Spent £1.5mill this Season " :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

"We spent £3m or so on ten players, but we got £1.5m back so net wise we only spent £1.5m"

"There’s not many clubs in our league who’ve done that. But I wouldn’t swap money."

No plans to sign Feltscher permanently'

Neil Warnock:

"He’s full of energy. He’s cover for an area where we have injuries. Harry told me about him but we had six full backs at that stage so it didn’t warrant it. He came for a few days and we liked what we saw."

"We have no plans to sign him permanently at the moment, and he knows that, so it’s up to him to put his case forward.."

Warnock has been monitoring Joe Bennett's social media...

NEIL WARNOCK:
"Bennett is back fit which is a good plus. So he tells me anyway, on Twitter!"

Latest News on Kenneth Zohore and Aron Gunnarsson :thumbright:

Neil Warnock:

"Kenneth Zohore has had good days and bad days. It’s been very up and down."

Neil Warnock:

"We talked with Gunners all the time. He wasn’t fit enough for the first (Iceland) game. I didn’t mind him going over there as he had a fitness plan, he felt he wasn’t ready for the first so wasn’t involved, then he stepped up a little bit and got ten minutes in the second game, he trained yesterday."

"We’ll assess him and it’s good to have him back in contention with three games in a week."

Neil Warnock reveals Zohore 's injury struggles

It doesn’t sound great for Kenneth Zohore, based on what Warnock has just said.

NEIL WARNOCK"

"Ken’s had good days and bad days. We’ve seen another specialist this week and we’re waiting to see what a reaction to an injection. It’s only scar tissue, but some people can get through it but it depends on your pain threshold. I understand it. He’s got to push through it to get fit or we’ve got look at how we can get rid of the scar tissue. Last Saturday he said he would be okay then Monday he felt bad. It’s been very up and down.

"We’ve had another opinion to make sure and it’s come back the same to how we’ve been treating, it’s not like we’ve made a mistake, it’s how we’re going to eliminate the pain barrier thing."

Warnock on the promotion race

NEIL WARNOCK:

"It’s wide open, more than the last few years, there will be teams in bottom half thinking they can get a run together. The size of the clubs below us like Derby, Villa... it’s a fabulous achievement for Sheffield United and ourselves to be where we are."

"I did say when we played Wolves, whoever finished above them would win promotion. I felt there was more to come and money’s no object. I still think that, in my eyes, whoever finishes above them will go up."

Fringe players doing well

NEIL WARNOCK"

"I felt sorry for Liam (Feeney) who did well and looked sharp (against Bristol City) and only came off because of the sending off. Wardy looked better as well, Loic is pushing for a place and has been super in training."

:We’ve got other options. I’m glad Joe’s back, Jazz is about four weeks away yet and Kadeem is probably a little bit less and the same with Camp. We’re getting there but it’s frustrating at the minute not to be able to pick your best team."

Latest News on Kenneth Zohore and Aron Gunnarsson

The first question for Neil Warnock centres on the Bluebirds’ current injuries — with Zohore and Gunnarsson of particular concern.

Warnock welcomes Feltscher addition

"He’s only here for seven weeks, I said I’d have a look at him. The lad and the agent wanted a couple of years which I wasn’t prepared to do, but he came back and said he’ll let us have a look at him for seven weeks at a time when we’ve got a few out. He plays anywhere across the back, quite an attacking player, little bit rash at times, but it would be good to look at him."

"He played behind closed doors on Monday and we’re going to try and fix up a few more games in the next few weeks. He’s full of energy. He’s cover for an area where we have injuries."

"Although it’s disappointing it gives opportunities to others. If it had happened 12 months ago we would be with the kids now. All credit to everybody because we’ve got a decent squad that can cater for most situations deadline to deadline."

"When I was at Sheffield United we had four centre-backs injured in the space of a week, you can get anomalies like that. That’s what can happen with the window."

More of Warnock's thoughts on the January transfer window

We know Warnock likes to do a deal if he can, but here he insists he’s perfectly happy with his squad and may not delve too deep into the market in the New Year.

"The IT people are doing good things with the chief scout, Glyn Snodin, how we can improve the squad if we can. But it has to come, not within our budget, but within our scope who can fit in with the type of players we have. Good lads who want to improve."

"There’s been one or two young lads not in the 25s in the Premier League but how long would it take them to get fit? We have to weigh it all up before deciding on what we’re going to do. The results between now and January will tell us what we need."

On Dean Smith and Brentford

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Brentford are the best team form-wise, the only side with more crosses and shots than us which shows you the kind of attacking team they are. I like Dean Smith, a good young manager. He gets on with business even when he loses players, he signed a lad from Exeter I was interested in and we couldn’t afford what Brentford paid."

"They’ve picked players up and have a good team spirit, a bit like us. It will be a good game, no disrespect to Millwall, they’ll try and win the game."

Cardiff City are the only side in the league still unbeaten at home. Warnock is keen to keep that run going...

NEIL WARNOCK:

"That’s a really good omen! It’s testing times for us with injuries, but I used to worry when I was a younger manager but I don’t now. I just get on with it."

"The fans are always good and they will help. It’s a good period. We have to hang in there and get these lads fit. I don’t think there’s any doubt of character. We wouldn’t be where we are now without it."

Neil Warnock on the Championship promotion race

Warnock believes whoever finishes above Wolves will be promoted.

NEIL WARNOCK:

Can Gounongbe 'do a Zohore'?

Gonoungbe has looked sharp and done really well; why can’t he do a Zohore?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"You just don’t know. He had a bad injury and it took him a long time to get back, but I’ve watched him work over the last few months and he’s trained really hard. He’s been very frustrated and had a lot of family problems which none of us want to hear about, but he’s overcome all that and done really well."

"I asked him if he could play half a game a couple of weeks ago and he didn’t think he was ready, but would if I wanted him to. Since then he’s had 90 minutes, a couple of other games and looked quite sharp and with the situation with Ken and Bogle he’ll come into the reckoning."

"It’s been a first proper chance to see him. I liked him when I first came. He’s probably the best at holding the ball up that we’ve got. He’s definitely the best header of the ball of the strikers. We put a session on yesterday and I mentioned it to fans at a function last night he was like Nat Lofthouse! Really good finishing with his heading, knew what he was doing behind the centre-halves and I was really pleased for him. He’s seen what Ken did with his chance and he’s a really good lad."

"The scout who gave me Loic Damour said to me when I first came I’d really like Gonoungbe, that he’d watched him over the last couple of the years and he would be just my cup of tea. Unfortunately he’s had a couple of injuries after another and never really got a chance and then Ken set the world alight. If he can just have a few months injury-free it will be interesting to see what he does because he is a big problem for centre-halves. You just don’t know."

Has Neil Warnock had conversations with Vincent Tan and Dalman?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’ve not really had the need to. If I thought there was a player who could benefit us I would speak to Mehmet and discuss it and then to Vincent with our transfer committee, but it’s not come to that."

"I’m very happy with what I’ve got. Don’t forget, 10 new signings coming in, knitted well quickly and we’ll get a few more answers in the next few weeks and it’s only then we’ll make a decision."

"It could be that we lose a couple to bring one or two in, player swaps or things like that. I don’t spend money for the sake of it."

"We spent £3m or so on ten players, but we got £1.5m back so net wise we only spent £1.5m - there’s not many clubs in our league who’ve done that. But I wouldn’t swap money. That’s the nice thing for me from where I’m sat. I wouldn’t swap many in my dressing room for others in others’ teams."

Neil Warnock has revealed Aron Gunnarsson is in contention to return for Cardiff City in their Championship clash with Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

But star striker Kenneth Zohore once again looks set to miss out due to injury, meaning Danny Ward is set to lead the line against Dean Smith's side in the absence of suspended forward Omar Bogle.
