It's been a very quiet opening to the game here, neither side has created anything of note. 0-0.

Adam Hammill is clearly Barnsley’s biggest threat going forward. Playing on the right wing he’s giving Joe Bennett a thorough working over and his crossing - although erratic - looks capable of conjuring something up. On the other flank, Manga and Paterson are combining well. Physically, they’re an incredible double act.

Adam Hammill gets down the wing and delivers a teasing cross that the 'keeper plucks out of the air last minute

BARNSLEY GO CLOSE
Great link-up play by Thiam and Hedges, with the latter firing in a low cross across the Cardiff goal that is diverted just wide and behind by a Cardiff defender, with both Morrison and Bamba sliding in.

Big turnaround at Bramall Lane
Fulham have struck with two goals in as many minutes to take the lead at Sheffield United.

Precious little to separate to the two teams so far
Cardiff need to find a bit of attacking magic here. They’ve been typically resolute at the back but can’t quite find a way through the hosts at the moment.

Draw wouldn’t be a bad result, but still think we can win this

Time for Tomlin?
An idea: Get Lee Tomlin on the pitch. This Barnsley team - while decent - aren’t great shakes and can be hurt in defence.

Cardiff better not fuk up my accumulator as it's it's going well. Will never learn

Hoilett, who by his standards has had a reasonably quiet game, now has a sight at goal, hitting it straight at Davies in the Barnsley goal. Still 0-0

Cardiff probing but can't find a way through
Still no goals here. Can Cardiff find a breakthrough?

Barnsley started this half brightly, but Cardiff have already had a couple of sights at goal

Its been time for tomlin every game hes been dropped for after having man of the match against ipswich

This remains a really scruffy, ugly contest. One which you feel Cardiff are growing into and one which could be won by a set-piece. Barnsley are enjoying a few of those right now but Bruno Manga and Sol Bamba are heading everything away, to date.

I do appreciate our manager making us competitive in EVERY game. BUT, Barnsley, ffs just get the players on that are superior quality to them

All Barnsley now

The pace of Barnes is already causing problems for Bruno Manga at right-back. One wonders if Warnock will be tempted to make a change here. Damour and Feeney are warming up.

Still no changes, 3rd in the league playing for a draw against 16th in the league by the looks of things

The Cardiff fans have spent the last 5 minutes straight pleading with Neil Warnock to do the ayatollah. The Bluebird boss is a bit tense as Barnsley line up a free kick - blazed over in the end - but he eventually obliges, to the delight of the travelling 250 or so.

PATERSON!
So nearly 1-0. A brilliant cross from Bennett finds Paterson 10 yards out, but the Scot can’t connect with it and Barnsley just manage to clear their lines. Great chance. Loic Damour is about to come on
