MY VIEW:WARNOCK SENT OFF/CITY SLOPPY FIRST HALF/REF AWFUL/B

Postby Forever Blue » Mon Dec 11, 2017 9:54 pm

My View/Opinion

WARNOCK SENT OFF/CITY SLOPPY FIRST HALF/REF AWFUL/ BUT CITY NEVER GAVE UP AND FOUGHT BACK FOR AN AWAY DRAW 2-2. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Neil Warnock was fuming with the officials on decisions tonight and eventually got himself sent to the stands.

First-Half: Cardiff went to sleep to,two set pieces and conceded two goals, over all City were very poor and Reading Deserved their 2-0 lead, even though they were not that good themselves.

Second-Half: Cardiff played a lot better and had some decent spells and the last 15 mins were all Cardiff and Cardiff's persistance paid off to get a good draw away from home :bluebird: :bluebird:

WARNOCKS TEAMS NEVER GIVE UP :ayatollah: :bluebird:

READING 2 CARDIFF CITY 2 :bluebird: :bluebird:

H/T 2-0

City: Etheridge, Manga, Bamba, Morrison, Bennett, Paterson, Ralls, Damour, Mendez-Laing, Hoilett, Bogle.

Subs: Brian Murphy,Lee Peltier,Matt Connolly,Greg Halford.Liam Feeney ,Lee Tomlin,Anthony Pilkington.

Crowd
Away Support ( 1,383 Cardiff )

Cardiff City went in search of their fifth consecutive league win with Callum Paterson and Omar Bogle replacing Craig Bryson and Danny Ward who were withdrawn due to injuries.

After a bright start by Cardiff,in the 16th min a nightmare for Cardiff as Reading won a corner. they whipped it into the area by Liam Kelly, and Paterson headed into his own net, but also Etheridge can take some blame. 1-0

34th min Captain Sean Morrison limped off and was replaced by Lee Peltier.

Then in the 40th min Reading had a corner whipped into the box and was only half cleared and Reading player Barrow’s strike was deflected in 2-0

H/T 2-0

Started end to end, but then Cardiff in the 51st min thanks to Neil Etheridge very nearly gifted Reading a third goal, thankfully stayed 2-0.

City then pushed forward more, but to be fair Reading also did the same and it was end to end.

Quite a few poor decisions by the Ref.

Furious

Neil Warnock was not a happy man, Warnock had already been warned by referee Stephen Martin and needed to hold back.

Cardiff had a decent spell for 20 mins, with Mendez-Laing heavily involved.

76th min Ref had had enough and Warnock was sent to the Stands

78th min Lee Tomlin replaced Callum Paterson

80th min Liam Feeney replaced Omar Bogle.

Cardiff really started to pressurise Reading and in 83rd min, the ball broke for Joe Bennett, whose volley was unstoppable 2-1 :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Then Lee Tomlin smashed it across the line to make 2-2 in the 90th min :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

F/T 2-2 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Man of the match: Sol Bamba :thumbright: :thumbright:

A thoroughly deserved point and we played really well. I always felt we had it in the team to get back into it and good to see Tomlin get his goal. Ref was awful, looks like someone who knows all the laws but has never played the game.

Feels like a win.

Brilliant comeback after a terrible first half, Lee Tomlin changed the game.

The law says if ball hits a player it's other teams throw in or corner he gave neither tonight plus other ridiculous decisions. But city fully deserve point but missed enough chances to win game :old:

Quite a few poor decisions Annis, he was appalling even got the decision with throw in off their player with Peltier in second half.

I've no doubt if he didn't have goal line technology he wouldn't have given Tomlins goal. He looked like a 6th former on his uniform!!

Besides that we showed that on form we are a side to be reckoned with and we should have won that.

Bring on Hull

I don't get the criticism aimed at Warnock on this forum tonight. He has put a team together with very little money available to him. The team are 2nd and have lost just 3 games all season. I doubt if even the most blinkered of our fans would have put money on us being where we are at this stage of the season. Despite all this, the experts on here are still telling him where he is going wrong long before the match has even finished.

Cardiff goalscorer Lee Tomlin tells Sky Sports:

"It just proves our character. We dig deep and that's what happens when you don't take your foot off the gas.

"It's a lot of effort for the travelling fans to come out in the cold and I'm glad we've rewarded them."

FT: Reading 2-2 Cardiff

Reading midfielder Dave Edwards tells Sky Sports:

"We're gutted. We were comfortable at the break. We knew there would be an onslaught in the second half.

"We didn't quite play our football in the second half and that's credit to Cardiff - they put us under a lot pressure.

"We're gutted we can't keep our run going. I believe we're one of the best sides in the league. If we want to reach the top six we need to win from those kinds of positions."

Sol Bamba hits the bar with a header, but it comes back for Lee Tomlin who hammers another shot into the underside of the bar, only for it to drop down over the line.

What a time for him to get his first goal for the club

Kelly made a blatant foul on Bogle first half got the foul but no yellow and then had a yellow for a foul on Patterson I think. Also how can you not be booked when you don't retreat 10 yards!! Great comeback glad Tomlin got his goal. If you put out the firt string we would have won tonight against a good chamionship side. The match stats make interesting reading we matched passes and possession with them but out done them for efforts and shots at goal! Best stat in 1st half was regarding long balls they played over twice as many as us and we are long ball merchants? :laughing6:

Good to see us getting late goals. Lost count of the number of times over the years I have watched us fail at the death by an injury time equaliser from our opponents. Nice to see us playing for the full 90 minutes plus injury time. This team fights to the very end.

I had a feeling we would claw it back and you know the saying "Better late than never".

I thought we had missed it though when we didn't take the early chances in the second half. In the end it was a well deserved point against the odds and that being the referee.

Fantastic effort from the team to get a point. Warnocks got a bunch of fighters here, who are also capable of producing moments of brilliance. Ralls is fast becoming a player of real quality. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Was it absolutely necessary to send NW off or, as the Clattenburg story illustrated last week, do some have a game plan which if used makes them the star if the show. Given NWs profile, I think it was a scalp for the ref to send him off in front of the cameras tonight. Maybe I missed something but sending him to the stands seemed extreme.
