UPDATE: " TEN CARDIFF CITY PLAYERS "

Sun Jan 07, 2018 10:36 am

" NEIL WARNOCK STATED HE HAS " TEN " CARDIFF CITY PLAYERS OUT INJURED " :bluebird:

Below is a full list of everyone of the Cardiff Players and who will be back for our next Home League v Sunderland this coming Saturday and who will be back in Feb/March 2018 :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

" Lee Peltier "

The right-back has played a pivotal role for the Bluebirds in the first half of the 2017-18 campaign, but the versatile defender has required an operation that will rule him out for a month, meaning he will miss the Championship fixtures with Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton Wanderers and potentially Leeds United.

Estimated return: February first week :thumbright: :thumbright:

" Matt Connolly "

The defender made his first league appearance of the season against former club Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on New Year's Day.

But just when it looked like the 30-year-old was set to get a decent run in the side, Warnock revealed Connolly had torn two muscles in his calf, ruling him out of contention for four weeks.

Estimated return: February first week :thumbright: :thumbright:

" Danny Ward "

The striker has to be patient to get a run in the side but took his chance to shine in the absence of Kenneth Zohore with goals against Ipswich Town, Brentford and Nottingham Forest.

But having undergone knee surgery in December, the striker was ruled out of action for three months.

Estimated return: March 22

" Aron Gunnarsson "

Having initially stated that he would miss six weeks of action, Warnock has since admitted that he "ain't got a clue" when Icelandic warrior Gunnarsson would return to action.

It is telling that the midfield ace - whose future in the Welsh capital remains uncertain - has featured just 12 times in the league for Cardiff so far this season.

Estimated return: February first week.

" Craig Bryson "

The Scot has not featured for the Bluebirds since the 4-2 defeat at home to Fulham on Boxing Day, although Warnock later resisted the temptation to play the midfielder against QPR on January 1 having previously hinted that the 31-year-old was in line to return.

Given that Gunnarsson is a long-term absentee, Loic Damour and Joe Ralls have have been heavily under the spotlight, and Bryson's return in the centre of the park will no doubt be a hugely welcome one for Warnock.

Estimated return: Mid-to-late January :thumbright: :thumbright:

" Frederic Gounongbe "

The Benin international's future appeared to be over in the summer, but after a lengthy injury lay-off, the forward made a surprise return to action in November, featuring as a substitute in the wins against Brentford, Barnsley and Nottingham Forest.

But the injury curse struck once again, and Warnock revealed in December that the seemingly forgotten frontman is likely to miss three months through injury.

Estimated return: March 12

" Sean Morrison "

It's no coincidence that the Bluebirds managed to keep just one clean sheet in their five league outings without skipper Morrison, conceding nine times in those games prior to the FA Cup stalemate with Mansfield.

The captain made his comeback against the Stags having recovered from the groin injury that forced him off the pitch in the first half of the 2-2 draw against former club Reading at the Madejski Stadium last month, playing 75 minutes before being replaced by Loic Damour.

Estimated (league) return: January 13 (v Sunderland) :thumbright: :thumbright:

" Kadeem Harris "

It's been a nightmare campaign for the winger who is yet to play a single minute of action for the first team after suffering an ankle injury in the 4-0 pre-season win against Livingston in July.

He suffered a setback in October but returned to action with a bang by scoring inside the first minute for the Under-23s against Crystal Palace in December.

But Warnock has since revealed the wideman has had an injection to fix a groin problem, but - as with Morrison ahead of the Mansfield game - that Harris is "training well".

Estimated return: Late January/early February

" Lee Camp "

He's the only summer signing the Cardiff faithful are yet to see, and while it is uncertain exactly when the goalkeeper will finally make his first team bow, he is edging ever closer to featuring having played a number of fixtures for the Under-23 side.

Estimated return: Late January/February

" Omar Bogle "

The striker went from hero to villain in the Severnside derby defeat to Bristol City in November, however he returned from his suspension in stunning fashion with a goal and a hugely encouraging all-round display against Norwich in December.

Did not feature against Fulham or QPR over the festive period, but at least with Rhys Healey and Kenneth Zohore back, Bogle hasn't been as missed as he may have been. Was on the bench against Mansfield.

Estimated return: Mid-to-late January

The Camp signing was strange, will we see him start a league game this season?

Well, Morrison is back and Bogle seems ready. Richards is better than Peltier.
Centre midfield is the most worrying with Bryson joining Gunnars.
Still, it all gives NW a few excuses!

Perfect timing getting Jazz back giving the current injury list.

I just hope NW gets his midfield player and forward this week because despite 4 defeats on the trot we only need to win half of our remaining games to make the playoffs.

If we can do that I would back NW against any other manager in the playoff process.

Peltier is no loss whatsoever IMO, an absolute awful player. Jazz is a much better option but as mentioned above central midfield is the obvious gapping problem.

Strange how people see different things. I think he's better than Jazz

I have to agree with that also.
