Cardiff City transfer news digest: Neil Warnock identifies winger targets but is getting very frustrated

Neil Warnock has cast his Cardiff City transfer options wide as he remains determined to boost his Bluebirds during the January window.
And although the veteran manager is working hard to land targets up front and in the middle of the park, a new winger is not being ruled out with the Yorkshireman eager to look at all options.
The Cardiff chief had been hopeful of landing “two or three” additions to his squad that have defied expectations and placed themselves in the running for automatic promotions, knowing he needs to give things a push after a run of four consecutive league defeats over the festive period.
A central midfielder has been on the agenda with Aron Gunnarsson having been one of the main casualties of Cardiff’s long-running injury issues.
But adding to the forward line has been a priority – and it could yet include a wideman rather than simply a striker.
Cardiff have been in for striker Gary Madine, with claims the club have seen bids for the 27-year-old rejected by Bolton.
BBC, Warnock said: “In the transfer window it’s amazing how long these things take. It’s not an ideal scenario getting players in January - I might not have anyone in. I’m looking for strikers, players who can play in the Championship and will consider anyone we think we can do a job.”
