BREAKING: ' NEIL WARNOCK UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS ' :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Will Wildschut be available to face Sunderland?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Wildschut will be in the squad if he lands at Cardiff in the fog!” :thumbright:  :bluebird:

The latest injury news from Neil Warnock

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’d like to say injuries are improving but I don’t think it’s much different to last week. Bryson and Kadeem are training but it’s probably a bit too soon, but longer terms like Peltier, Matt Connolly, Aron Gunnarsson have no chance. We’ve got to get on with what we’ve got. The good thing is the illness has gone out of the camp, Rallsy, Bamba and Bennett - who was a bit below last week even though he played - are all firing again so at least we have a few more options.”

Warnock on Gary Madine and Lewis Grabban

NEIL WARNOCK:

"We’ve not given up on anybody, but don’t know about those particular names being top of the list, we’ve got a number of options we’ve been speaking about."

"I’m not saying I’m optimistic but we have to be positive and hope they want to come and join what is a very good club. Players do what’s best for themselves but when you look at the league table, players would rather come and fight at the top end rather than for survival. I’ve had it both ways. We’re looking for better than we have, so it’s not dozens we’re looking at for certain areas, there’s only one or two like that in areas that fit our budget and wage bill and we have to get them on board if we can as quickly as possible.”

Key talking points from Neil Warnock's press conference :thumbright: :bluebird:

Here are the main talking points from Warnock’s press conference.

Warnock has revealed Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has been receiving the wrong medication for an asthma problem.

He also revealed that the Bluebirds have the option to buy new recruit Yanic Wildschut in the summer.

Joe Ralls, Sol Bamba and Bennett are all in contention to feature against Sunderland :thumbright: :thumbright:

Kadeem Harris and Craig Bryson are training, but are unlikely to be involved against Sunderland.

" ALL NEIL WARNOCKS UPDATES BELOW " :thumbright: :bluebird:

NEIL WARNOCK:

Neil Warnock on Yanic Wildschut

"Everything should have gone through. He’s someone I’ve liked for a long time."

"I actually tried to buy him before Norwich did but the fee was far more than we would have paid so we didn’t have a chance. But I’ve always liked him and his attitude and versatility will help us in our situation. It’s a loan until the end of the season with an option, if we went up we’d take him automatically and if we don’t we’ll discuss it, but we’re glad to have him on board. He can play wide, he can play up front as well - I saw him do that a couple of times last season and he did very well - at the moment we’re so thin on the ground in that area it helps, and it will suit how we play, he’s our type, he’ll run at people, he’s exciting, I like watching him, a decent lad and he fits the bill.”

Neil Warnock on captain Sean Morrison

NEIL WARNOCK:

"He’s my captain and leader and I miss him. Sol’s done well and Bruno’s back to form, so they’ve got the consistency and Sean underlines that. Morrison is like John McGrath, you won’t remember him, but he’s my era. No nonsense, not pretty on the eye, but the first name on the manager’s team sheet.”

Chris Coleman press conference:

"I know the stadium like the back of my hand, and it’ll be nice to back there."

"A Swansea boy going back to Cardiff, I’m not sure what the reception will be like, but all of my memories at the stadium are very positive and I’m hoping when I leave to go back to Sunderland that won’t change.”

More from Warnock on Wildschut

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I like him because his first thought is positive and committing and going at people, that’s what I like about wide players and strikers. it’s what I like watching. It’s been hard work, I’ve never worked as hard for a loan signing in my life, it’s been a long week for me and trying to get others in as well. We’re a little bit further down the line in that respect. We hit a brick wall in the week but now we’re looking at next week hopefully bringing another one in.”

Warnock on getting back to winning ways

NEIL WARNOCK:

"We want to get back on a run. Training has been good. It’s been more like ourselves this week. Early kick-off, we’ve not had many of them so it will be interesting to see how we perform. It’s a big game for both clubs, we want to get back to winning ways and they want to get out of the bottom three.”

Neil Warnock on Chris Coleman

NEIL WARNOCK:

"He deserves a great reception, he did a fantastic job with Wales. It wasn’t always rosey, he had to come through a difficult period but good managers do that. He learned a lot and enjoyed it I think. He had the passion - the anthem before the game was special for me let alone a Welshman - and he deserves a good response and I’m sure he will, but I understand why he went to Sunderland because it’s a big club.”

Neil Warnock on the Sunderland clash

NEIL WARNOCK:

"They’ve got some good players, some from the Premier League, but you couldn’t say we’ve had an easy game this year. A lot depends on how we play, really. At the moment we’re a bit thin in midfield, we’re not scoring goals and we’re conceding so we’re in disarray so we had to work hard on the training ground, but disarray and still third in the table? You’d take that."

"They’ve done fantastic. 2017 was probably as good a year as I’ve ever had but we want to start 2018 well. We have to work hard on the training ground and kick on.”

Craig Bellamy for the Wales job?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’ve no idea. I’ve not spoken to him this week, but I hope so if I’m honest, I think it would be great for him to have a go. He’s very passionate about his country, I don’t think the set-up needs much changing, the backroom staff and everything’s very good, he knows the players inside out, I don’t see how they can lose by giving him the opportunity. I think it will be interesting to see how he performs if given the chance.”

Warnock on Wildschut and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

NEIL WARNOCK:

"It’s got to help."

" I don’t think you can fault Junior with his contributions. Mendez has hit a little bit of a brick wall over the few games but we’ve just found out he’s been on the wrong medication for an asthmatic problem for six weeks, so that could have something to do with it. I chat with him during the game last week and he was struggling. He’s had tests and it’s shown he should change medication which he should have been on the last few months and hopefully that will sort it out as he’s looked bright this week, back to his old self. Hopefully that’s been it. I’d noticed his lungs couldn’t do what he was doing earlier in season, then I saw at half-time against Mansfield and he looked older than me wheezing away in the corner of the dressing room. That’s when I had a chat with him and asked if he was okay inhaling and that. He said he was struggling and we got him to see the doctor. They did a few tests and the doctor said they should have looked at it a couple of months ago because earlier in season it was the right thing but in the colder months it should have been something else. Something as simple as that. Hopefully we’ve found the answer.”
