Starting formation

What was it today. Even before the sending off we appeared to be playing a 3511 with Bamba in defence ( his inclusion today I thought would be a holding midfielder). Manga played on the right of the three almost as a right back at times.

Got home and watched the game back. The commentators were not sure and when one of them spoke to Warnock earlier he supposedly laughed and said that even he didn't know how he was going to line them up.
The graphics showed it as a 4-3-3 but after about 10 minutes they suggested it seemed to be more of a 3-4-3.

Magna played right back with very little license to get forward. 3 centrebacks and Bennett at LB. Flat back 5 really. Solid platform to build from though.

City played 4411 against Sunderland; Richards played left back and Patterson centre left midfield. To accommodate Patterson in that position Ralls, who normally plays clm, switched to centre right midfield. Bennett played on the left of midfield.

No . Richards played just in front of the back four (manga, Morrison, bamba and Bennett) and basically man-marked Gooch. He was only practising for the Man City game though .
