Think with the players we got we better off playing 4-5-1

I would go with strength not pace.
Keep it tight and close down quickly by packing midfield with ball winners.
Last 10 mins throw on Mendez Hoilett and Harris to attack them with pace.

I agree the league's more important obviously. But a good account of ourselves here, or even dare I say it, a cupset, would bring the crowds back for the rest of the season. If we're rubbish and play rubbish football they won't bother.

Absolutely not five at the back. Maybe Jazz doing a marking job on De Bruyne, or Bamba as holding midfielder .
Think I'd favour the latter.

Great to have a cup tie like this a one off game as just hope all the players come through it and we put in a good account of ourselves and that the score line is sensible.

Then go after the league its much more important than man city although its a nice glamour game for the players to play against the best of the best.

Eithridge

Richards Morrison Manga Bennett

Bamba

Grujic Ralls

Lang Zohore Hoilett

Full on Attack against Manchester City, Give it there all.
Maybe Zohore can get scoring again to gain a bit of confidence.

Bluebirds

My Prediction: CARDIFF 2-1 MANCHESTER CITY
We will hang on to win it at the end :ayatollah:

Seems a sensible choice to me shame brayson is still injured though.
New boy never gonna last the 90 but bamba could do a job there with manga in defence.

Give Tomlin a run out, one of the few players we've got that can actually play football

I’ll be amazed if we don’t play a full strength team - if we did it for Mansfield away I’m pretty sure we’ll do it for this one.

I think Neil Warnock will have some disappointed players on his hands, if he doesn't play a quality team for this one; otherwise, what was the point of the Mansfield replay team? :?

I'm sure some cynics will say "Home gate receipts" but this is an opportunity for the team and the fans to, uhm, 'Do a Leeds United' and send the blighters packing in the cup! :thumbright:

Great position for City to be in. The boys will have nothing to lose and lots to gain! :ayatollah:

It could be something like this
Murphy squad player not starter
Patterson squad . Player not starter
Manga morrison bennett
Halford squad . Player . Not starter
Griue new
Demour squad player . Not starter
Yanic new
Pilks squad player . Not starter
Zohore
Then the bench could . Have first teamers

New player or not, Yanic and Grujic were in the first team on Saturday
Yanic is cup tied and Grujic will deffo play (according to NW)
I'll be amazed if Murphy, Halford and Pilks are in the starting 11, and surprised if Damour is.
All opinions though

Warnock will be forced into playing a strong squad otherwise it could end up being totally embarrassing.

Warnock won't be forced into anything.

If you think he is going to risk Rails & Bamba you are delussional.

Troobloo is very close to the actual team that will play.

The only thing that should matter to City is making a decent effort at promotion.

Look at it this way. City beat Manchester City and 1 or 2 star players are injured, the promotion effort is over.

The squad is thin enough as it is.

Just go to the game and enjoy the day, just don't expect to much.

If we get through the game and none of the main players are injured I will be happy.

If we concede 4 or 5, so what, they are the best team in the league by a country mile.

But NW risked both players against Mansfield? :? Therefore the evidence is they will play against Man City that hardly makes everyone thinks so 'delusional'

As for getting injured that can happen in any league game or more likely in training. Do you really believe players will stop training between now and the end of the season just to avoid injury?

30,000 tickets will have been sold for this game and the club and manager have an obligation to field their best team and to go for the win, no matter how unlikely that might seem.

I

i totally agree that promotion is the number one aim but I'm suggesting that NW MAY put out a full team of first teamers. Others seem to KNOW different.

Yeah not sure where that comes from to be honest, only have to look at the team against mansfield where everyone except bamba played.

you can easily get away with dropping one of the three centre backs, but i cant see him playing pretty much the strongest team V mansfield, only to rest them all V man city

As long as we give a good account of ourselves and get no injuries I am just looking forward to seeing our current batch up against arguably the worlds best team and how our players fare against them.
