Cardiff City installed as favourites to land Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban and Ipswich Town’s David McGoldrick

David McGoldrick remains on the radar of Cardiff City as they continue searching for a new striker.

Neil Warnock is searching high and low for a new striker and he has admitted that it’s still between ‘four or five’.

Ipswich Town frontman David McGoldrick is believed to be one of those players, along with Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban.

The Bluebirds are favourites to win the race for both strikers with a number of bookmakers, but it’s understood they will only sign one during this window. McGoldrick is 2/1 to move to South Wales, while Grabban is 4/5.

McGoldrick has struggled with injuries during his time at Ipswich Town but he possesses plenty of Championship experience, and indeed goals.

The Irishman’s contract also expires in the summer, meaning Cardiff could secure him for a cut price if they select him as the target thy want.

However, Lewis Grabban is still understood to be the Bluebirds’ main target following ‘positive talks’ with Bournemouth last week.

Grabban has been made available by the Premier League club after being recalled from his loan spell with Sunderland earlier this month.

Neil Warnock says Cardiff aren’t close to signing a striker, but he is hopeful of securing one of the ‘four or five’ before the end of the window.

David McGoldrick and Lewis Grabban are believed to be within that list of targets, but as things stand, neither has a chance of signing in time for Saturday’s huge FA Cup tie with Premier League leaders Manchester City.

I think us fans be in wonderland if we sign both, but if had to pick of 2, it would be Grabban by a country mile.

Maybe Bournemouth need to sign someone or be sure they have enough cover before finally releasing ?, that's why so many deals are done on deadline day
