Paul, with fans like that, it's no wonder there's so much negativity about the club!
Let's do something novel, like getting down there in our droves and singing our support for our team for the whole 90 minutes. City fans have made a difference in the past and they can do so again!

You missed the point completely, this cup game will attract great interest from fans that just want to come and see Man City, which is basically just a glorified friendly. Before the draw Warnock said he had no interest in the cup and wanted to play a weakened team. We have a chance of automatic promotion and this has caused an additional game and a great big distraction.
Have a little look at Bristol City's form since they played Man City, chasing Man City around for 90 has done them no favours at all, and then have a look at Liverpool yesterday, they were tired and couldn't beat a hopeless Swansea team !!!
My gripe with this draw is that it could well cost us promotion, but people are getting over excited, about it and people who never go are begging for tickets.

So Bristol City's form dipped because they chased Man City around for 90 minutes. What's our excuse then? We have'nt chased Man City around at all and our form has been very poor lately. If teams are not capable of playing an additional couple of games in a season, perhaps the modern training methods are not all they are made out to be.
It's possible that the tie can help us. A good performance will help build player confidence, and the cash generated may help allow us to bring in that little bit of extra quality that may see us over the line.
If we had to lost to Mansfield, and if our current league form continues, we would end up with nothing memorable as far as this season is concerned. At least this tie gives us the opportunity to see how we can perform against the very best. Why should'nt people be getting excited? It's not every week we get the chance to see these sort of players in action.

its not Bristol City..well no JUST...there are literally tens of thousands of examples of form drops.{no doubt you have a couple that buck the trend }.its why managers field weakened teams in cups and also the reason clubs now have such humongous squads....now in the 70s your old wives tale would be main stream...by the 90s 50/50..but when every single expert on earth says extra games have an effect on fatigue and fatigue has a effect on results and injuries because 100s on milions of pounds have been spent rsearching it and even old school managers like ours now keep going on about fatigue...its a bit rediculous to think you know better.
nothing to do with ..modern training methods either..more a case of people studying historic stats as well as new ones along with medical sports science
1970/71..in a very good league season for ourselves we only won 1..ONE lge game after a european game..and after the run ended our form dropped to 1.4 points per game from 1.9/per game..the later would have seen us promoted..Malky suffered it in his first year and took absolutely no chances in the cup the following year..dave jones suffered it the FA cup final year it didnt much matter that season ..

Well, if it costs us a drop in form we are in serious trouble. With one win in seven league games, our form can only get fractionally worse. We are not far off relegation form right now, just as well we made such a great start. And I doubt we can blame our poor form on the distraction of Mansfield. It started long before then.

no...not ALL economists said that..had it been ALL or even an over whelming majority i doubt the vote would have gone the way it did ...re extra games its very difficult to find ANYONE that thinks extra games have no effect, its not what tens of thousands are taught in sports science every year or thousands are taught on FIFA/UEFA coaching courses.
but they could all be wrong and the moon might be made of cheese.

yes we have been in poor form, no escaping that.
but that in no way means the moon is made of cheese. or the sun revolves around the earth or that extra games generally have a negative effect...strange thing is you know full well that at least 40 teams rotated their players massively for the 3rd round games but want to deny it..?
