Boro for years were crap home and away with their support.
Home support still hmmm?
But their away support the last 5 years just keeps increasing, a lot of their fans from the 80's/90's all still go away, plus joined by their new generation of fans.
Birmingham might be in the midlands, but had not won an away game for 14months and until the last 3 weeks had been in the bottom two of the Championship for 5 months, so superb away support
Ours is approx 1,100.
Last season it was about 780, 3rd worst in the Championship, with our fantastic season this season, we should be 1,500 by May, but I reckon it will be about 900, which is not good at all.

Pre rebrand we would have been in the top 3.

love to know how you know that roughly 1400 more fans would be following city ( to make us 3rd in table) if wasnt for rebrand? obviously you're in touch with them to suggest this or is it a guess just curious to know?

Allan, in our promotion seasons in Div 3 & 4 City were taking far more away then than now and that was lower divisions.
We use to take 1,500 Northampton on a Friday night, now we could only dream of that.
In our promotion seasons We took to places like Colchester 1,500.
We use to take 4,000 to Reading.
2,500 to QPR etc

Thomas, but we use to take far bigger away support than we do now.
What about Boro,Sunderland,Sheff Wed,Sheff United they have to come down South.
Then Millwall, Ipswich,Bristol City,Norwich have to travel up North.
Millwall took twice as much as we did to Leeds away this season, yet Millwall only get 12,000 at home and use to only take a few hundred away. Times/day exactly the same yet we are near the top of the Championship and they are not.
City have been top 3 for 6 months of the season, including being Top of the Championship.

I think prices and travel distances and days of the games have a big impact.
If the championship looked like this
Swansea
Bristol city
Bristol rovers
Swindon
Reading
Hereford
Exeter
Oxford
Merthyr
We would sell out every allocation aswell because they are all easy trips to make. That is the situation teams like leeds and sheffield find themselves in, most teams within 1.5hours.
