According to Warnock, Stroud's reason for not blowing the whistle when he did was that he didn't see Sol Bamba putting the ball in the net!
So a chump who is refereeing in a game which could have implications on promotion to the richest league in world football is in a position on the pitch where he can't see a six foot six bloke wearing a shirt that's brighter than the sun!
If that's the real reason why he didn't give the goal then he should take a long hard look at himself and whoever was the referee's assessor at the game should be recommending a lengthy period of retraining for Mr Stroud.

The reason didn't see bamba score was because he turned away at that precise moment to look at paterson on floor for 2nd time! ! Ref today in spurs game gave longer advantage and ball was on edge area not 6yds out? Shows stroud didn't wait long enough to see what happened.

Think it was Bennett on the ground who was absolutely smashed by Morison who didn't even get a booking for it.
It's the fact that he allowed play to go on for a few seconds and that he then blew the whistle whilst the advantage was still being taken that shows what an absolute shocker of a decision it was.
He's got form as being an absolute liability as a ref and yet still gets given games at a standard which is plainly way above his ability as a ref.
If he turned up to referee your game on a Sunday morning in the pub league he'd still be out of his depth.

Well hopefully the assessment of him showed him what a tw*t he was! He had choice of what to do he started out with right one but then completely ballsed it up,
The big question is why allow play to go on for a second or 2 then stop it when at precise moment player kicks ball? He knew Bennett was ok as already looked at him get impression he wasn't going to give free kick as should blown up straight away.

Exactly.
Mistake after mistake.
Remember that Sunderland game away in the Premier League where the ref played advantage after Cala fouled Wickham and after play carried on for about 5 seconds whilst Wickham went round Marshall and missed, the ref decided that there had not been enough of an advantage simply because he didn't score, so sent Cala off and gave Sunderland a penalty.
Can't remember when we last genuinely benefited from an advantage being played.

Needless to say we were all happy that the goal wasn't given but everyone was in agreement that the goal should have stood.
If the ref genuinely didn't see the player in that bright shirt, then he must have been really flapping. It's a terrible decision and if those 2 points cost you at the end of the season, I will really feel for you.
I don't think the ref can change a decision once he has blown his whistle though - It's different to getting a second opinion on an incident by using video evidence.

I see it as a 4 horse race for second as I wouldn't discount Fulham.

Because once he blows the whistle, play stops. Imagine if a ref blew the whistle and a goalie didn't bother diving because he was playing to the whistle? You can't say "hard luck - You should have dived just in case". The golden rule is to play to the whistle and if the ref blows, then play is dead. He cannot bring that play back to life again once he's stopped it.
A ref can only change a decision if the ball has remained live throughout the incident. As soon as it is dead, nothing can be done.
