Good play from Traore

He’s playing out wide on the wing today, and he’s already offered a glimpse of what he can, skipping away from his man well before pinging in a cross that Boro manage to clear.

Rudy Gestede then tries to work an opening at the other end but he’s held up well by Morrison.

Bruno Manga’s throw towards Paterson is headed clear by the Boro defence, but the ball falls for Hoilett inside the area. He swings a right foot at it, but the half-volley whistles over the bar.

It’s another half-volley, this time some terrific work from Kenneth Zohore sees it fall to Paterson, but he fires wide.

It’s such a powerful weapon for Cardiff City. Paterson heaves it in close to the corner flag and it pinballs around the six yard box with Kenneth Zohore unlucky not to get a shot away. Hosts on top here so far but it remains 0-0

First 15 mins all City

Cardiff have certainly had the better of the opening stages, with Junior Hoilett and Armand Traore looking very lively on the flanks. But there’s been little in the way of clear cut chances for either side after 15 minutes.

Paterson a little lucky

The full-back sees another long throw cleared before eventually falling to Adama Traore, who tries to break before being cynically clipped down. No yellow

Adama Traore offers the hosts a quick reminder of what he can do, picking up the ball midway inside the Cardiff half before skipping past a couple of defenders and driving a shot at Etheridge. The shot’s nowhere near powerful enough and it’s saved comfortably.

Morrison's height is predictably causing problems for Boro

Hoilett whips it in and Morrison gets there at the far post, but he can’t get a meanigful connection on it. He holds it up well in the corner, but it comes to nothing.
