NEIL WARNOCK:

"Saturday is too soon for Gary Madine"

"It’s too soon for Madine I think, but he’s training. I wouldn’t write him off."

"The three lads, Bryson, Kadeem and Connolly played for the u23s yesterday which was pleasing."

"We had one or two niggles from Bolton."

Not sure about this - a broken nose is not the worst injury somebody could get, and lots of players over the years have played with broken cheekbones and a mask, so why can't Madine do that?

Its an open message, & I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Saturdays match day squad.

I had to miss about 4 weeks due to a broken nose back in my footballing days. Had an operation to fix it about 5 days after I collided with a goalpost, and then was told not to play for at least another 3 weeks. I have a relative who played professional rugby league, and he did not miss any games when he broke his, but had surgery when the season ended. We have all witnessed boxers fighting on when it is obvious they have had their nose broken, I suppose we are all different. I must have been a bit of a baby to have missed a whole month.

I doubt running is the problem.

Heading the ball will be incredibly painful though
