"It’s still really sore. It’s bone bruising. We’ve had different scans and there’s nothing showing up like a fracture or anything but he is still in pain and we’ve been told it’s just time."

"I think he did it in a game but he didn’t feel it until after the game. We thought he had done the same thing again so we scanned him and nothing showed up, so it’s just severe bruising."

Most people seem to assume it was the de Bruyne stamp on his thigh that caused the injury - although Warnock has not confirmed that. If it was that It just adds to the feeling that different standards are applied to Man City and the Premier elite.

The Bennett foul was dangerous and should have been a red, but Sane is running around like a spring chicken and Jazz is laid up with no return date in sight.
