" Lee Camp Dropped "

Just maybe Neil Etheridge turned out be the better keeper after all :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Sunderland have dropped Cardiff City goalie and reports say he has not been performing well of late. {Camp is not injured)

Lee Camp has conceded 11 goals, and has yet to keep a clean sheet, in his five games since joining from Cardiff City on deadline day at the end of January.

The 33-year-old was brought to Wearside to take over from Dutchman Robbin Ruiter, who had looked unconvincing after taking over from Jason Steele, who himself made a number of errors earlier in the season.

Coleman knows Sunderland must tighten up defensively, but insists it is a team effort and Camp cannot be blamed for every goal he has conceded.

“With Lee, we’ve conceded quite a lot of goals – but I’m not saying that every goal we’ve conceded is Lee’s fault,” said Coleman, who revealed yesterday that Ruiter is likely to be out for the remainder of the season after dislocating a finger.

“He missed a lot of football with Cardiff but we were in a position where we needed another goalkeeper with his experience at this level in relegation dogfights.

“Lee would be the first to say that we’ve conceded quite a few goals in the last four or five games, but they are not all down to him – it’s a team effort.
