Regarding any financial fair play

WOLVERHAMPTON FC

Thursday 9th March 2018

In response to the EFL communication issued on Thursday, Wolves have released the following statement:
We are very clear on FA and EFL regulations and always comply with them explicitly.

We welcome any form of communication with the EFL to reiterate our position, and we fully anticipate the release of a further EFL statement in support of Wolves and the club’s operations to bring a prompt resolution to this matter.

Mendez is financially connected to club which raises question of 3rd party ownership as he is agent for several if not all players signed this season! Also some players appear to be signed at cost price in other words less than true market value? :o

FFP is a joke open to abuse by the rich owners and used by the poor ones to justify their agendas.

QPR and now Wolves being prime examples of rich owners with ambitions for their clubs using the open doors to get around the FFP. Then there are those rich owners who have little ambition for their clubs not taking advantage of the open doors. Lets not forget the poor owners who play to the FFP to their own agenda of not investing. I'm not blaming the poor owners for using FFP in this way but just wish they were transparent about it.

So those of us who are expecting Wolves to have points drop you can forget about it. The best that will happen is they will get a fine most likely when they get to the premier. The EFL need these rich owners so they can keep their status high. Without them they would be pond life just like the rest of us. Most on here have said money has ruined the spirit of football and this FFP is just one of many examples.

couldn't agree more, the top clubs get away with it. But kills anyone outside the prem.

The only thing they can do, UEFA not FA. is bring a wage cap. Like the yanks.
Maximum wage in the prem 50k, championshipp 25k etc. You can offer what you want in bonuses. Yes obviously key players will get still 200k a week (appearances, goals etc) (so you will say its pointless). But average players wont chase the money, because they wont get first team else where. So could earn more money at lower clubs.
Transfers will become more reasonable, and will bring wage bills down.
And you 100% wont get players sitting on big contracts. If they want to earn more, move and preform.

But surely the idea of FFP (or whatever it's now called) was to stop clubs being loaded with debt? If Wolves or any other club have found away to finance a club which doesn't mean (for example) Wolverhampton Wanders FC being loaded with debt, then that has to be a good thing?

What we and every other club need to do is find our own way of financing the club which doesn't involve loading the club with debt.

Mendez is financially connected to club which raises question of 3rd party ownership as he is agent for several if not all players signed this season! Also some players appear to be signed at cost price in other words less than true market value? :o

Now if I was on the EFL instead of banging on about FFP I would be asking questions about 3rd party ownership. :o

Trouble with 'true market value' is that it's objective rather than subjective so easy to get around. On that point Wolves have shown the way and maybe everyone needs a super agent tie up :?:

Yes clubs do need super agents! Whilst your right about market value there are always comparisons to be had? In same way clubs cannot pay above market rates for things like stadium naming theres guidelines to stop clubs getting around ffp by paying more than its worth ? This is what leeds are probably questioning wolves manipulation of ffp! :old:
