Warnock's January Window....who's moaning now?

Sat Mar 17, 2018 12:05 am

I must admit at the end of the January transfer window I was less than impressed.

In came Wildschut, Grujic , Traore & Ward on loan, and a reported £6M buy for Madine (figures are disputed, I suspect the £6M includes plenty of add ons). Not players that clubs were clambering all over, with the exception of Grujic, himself an unproven talent, but loads of potential.

Out went Declan, Bogle, Camp.....and surprisingly Tomlin.

At the time I was rooting for Grabban as a marquee signing, Madine seemed like 3rd prize in a raffle.

Whilst I've always supported Warnock, I felt we had blown our chance to have a real crack at automatic promotion. Was it a lack of money, or were they Neil's picks? Probably a combination of the two.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and all of those incomings have played a part in where we are now. They have bought into the team spirit that Warnock has cultivated and they have produced when necessary.

My initial fears were unfounded and that is why I am a loyal fan and Warnock is our Manager. Long may it continue. :notworthy:
