Sat in the hotel in Derby about a mile from the ground. It's snowing but it's just a light dusting. Main roads are fine, side roads are white but no issues at the moment.

VINCE ALM:
Hi All regards Derby and the snow tomorrow. I'm awfully sorry but like you I wouldn't have any news on a game being called off or not in the middle of the night!
Nobody is working it's a Saturday night and secondly the game is tomorrow not tonight.
What I will say the snow was forecast today and as snowed as expected, however the volume of snow forecast has not materialised around Derby with about 2 inches of snow fallen and not the 4 inches forecast. Some pictures look worst than others because of the wind drifting the snow into piles.
The forecast is for the snow to stop soon and no more is expected. Pride Park does have undersoil heating and they have all morning to clear snow from around and inside the stadium.
if there is to be a decision it will not come much before 8-9am when unfortunately we be either M5 or M42
My advice stop worrying and get some sleep. what will be will be, it's on the TV worth £100,000 all efforts will be made to get it on see you in the morning

Getting there may be a bit more of a problem for the Valleys boys. Heads of the Valleys on traffic Wales cameras looks like it's having a dose of the white stuff?

With results as they are a postponement won't both us.

The Snowy Forecast:
9pm - The Snow Will Disappear, while it is still falling in South Wales
10am - The Snow will ease off from South Wales and will see it go, but still very cold
Sun Mar 18, 2018 7:05 am
7{05 Am and there is a 2 inch layer of snow here in Derby. It's cold.
Sun Mar 18, 2018 7:13 am
Seems all will get away from South Wales before the heavier stuff falls.

just started work, wellying it down with snow by Cardiff Uni Hospital - at least 2-3 inches settled now and building.
my lunch break is 2.5 hours today!!!

Let's hope for a good performance in what could be tricky conditions

Derby has been postponed due to staff unable to get to work
Sun Mar 18, 2018 8:28 am
We're on the SC coach and have turned around as Derby have cancelled match as they can't get staff there.
f*cking furious as they could have decided this yesterday or Friday. No problems with the main roads today so if we can make it from South Wales, why cant they get local staff there?

Now official.
Cardiff City’s away match at Derby County, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 18th March 2018, has been called off.
Following recent heavy snowfall, the surrounding areas at Pride Park have been left in an unsafe condition for supporters, staff and officials.
A new date for this match, and further information regarding the postponement and ticket detals for a rearranged fixture, will be released in due course.

It's the police who have the final say not the club and so this is a silly comment

What a load of bollocks.
The weather is bad in Derby and the match couldn’t go ahead for that reason alone. Our fans love a conspiracy theory.

Been on there forum and apparently around the ground it is not that bad. Most roads clear and a few suprised its off.
The outlying towns and villages are the problem not around pride park itself

Sky Sports just showed live pictures of inside ground and pitch looks lovely, no snow in ground, seats, sides, gangways.
Obviously live pictures of pitch and ground are not the same as outside, I suspect those who stayed overnight in Derby will confirm it is bad in the surrounding areas.

100% agree - accept it and move on

If sky hadn't got involved and 're scheduled the game then yesterday it would have gone ahead
