That was honestly my gut instinct too!

If us and Fulham average 2 points per game when we come to play Villa on the 10th of April, if we beat them we will be on 87 points and they will only have 87 points to play for.
We will then have 4 games in which to get a draw or if Fulham drop any points at all in their 4 games we are promoted.
If we win every game and they win every game we will exceed the total points they can hit of 93 by the time we play Norwich on the 14th.
That is assuming Villa continue their bad run of form and do not average 2 points per game.
The earliest we could be promoted is the 2nd of April at Sheffield if Fulham and Villa lose their next 3 games and we win ours.
The latest is of course the 6th of May V Reading as it could go to the wire or even completely tits up but that seems unlikely. Who knows though as we lost 4 on the bounce. Apologies if I screwed the maths up there!
My guess is at the Forest game!

when we have more points than other two can get to overtake us!!
Sat Mar 17, 2018 11:36 pm
I think the forest game too.

Fulham scare me.

Not even thinking about it yet, surely been a city fan long enough to know its not thus simple.

I think that we will keep our heads on the pitch and the other results around us will go for us, Aston Villa started there dip in form, but Fulham will be doing there best.
5 more wins and we will be fine, because Villa and Fulham will not win 5 in a row, ok maybe Fulham but not Aston Villa

Let’s not turn into wolves fans quite yet please

has the Xmas run taught us nothing?? Stop the promotion talk it could all go horribly wrong.
Sun Mar 18, 2018 7:32 am
Win today at derby and we are 10 points clear that means that fulham or villa need to win four more games than us in just 8 matchs . Win today and we have one foot in the premier

I’m hating all these ‘promotion’ posts.
People talking like it’s a done thing.

When we get enough points

I agree. We have a very tough run in with no guarantees of any points. Today’s events don’t help either.

They have Norwich away next, that won’t be easy. We have burton at home. Hull will be right up for villa at home too.
Could be 10 points with a game in hand. Very iffy call off today mind, the ground looks clear.

Hopefully when we go to those cheating bastards Derby County for the re-arranged fixture and we beat their full strength team whilst hopefully condemning them to missing out on the play offs at the same time.
I'd rather Bristol City get in the play offs than Derby

The pressure is well and truly on Fulham and Villa .
They have to try to win all their games , draws won't do.
They both have to win 3 games on the trot and hope we lose 3 .
That is a big ask with only 8 games left .
I know we lost 4 in a row over Xmas, but I honestly can't see that happening again.

It’s pissing me off, some of the people on here.
I haven’t heard anything from Warnock saying when we are likely to get promotion or even mentioning the word. Any other fans reading this would think we are an arrogant bunch like the Wolves or Villa fans FFS.

Whilst we are in a good position, there's still plenty of points to play for, I think if we can get 12 points that should be enough but not taking anything for granted. Burton is going to be tough, they are fighting for their lives down the bottom and will be tough nut to crack

Well said, Paul
Some people jumping ahead of themselves and thankfully the manager isn't!
I don't respond to these
"When will we?" or
"Will we win/what score?" polls, as I always feel it tempts fate and I'm never overly confident at the best of times!
A bit of a way to go yet. Some decent sides still to play (plus Derby County) before we can count chickens!
Sun Mar 18, 2018 9:04 pm
Not even contemplating promotion yet and I don't think it's healthy to do so. Over-confidence, especially in football, has a nasty habit of biting you squarely on the arse.
Long way to go yet and NW and the lads are doing it game by game and by being grounded in reality. And so should we, as they are doing a grand job.
Sun Mar 18, 2018 11:07 pm
I think there is nothing wrong with having a bit of confidence in the team. There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance but you have to show a bit of confidence in the squad after what they have achieved.
I think a bit of positive thinking is only a healthy thing anyhow. I don’t think much was ever achieved without people backing themselves a bit and I hope the players have more confidence in their ability than some of our fans do.
Sure, it could go wrong but I would like to think that if it does they will go down fighting. It very much looks like they will, and if they have that attitude I don’t think there is enough in their way to stop them! Blooobirds!

Far too early to say, let's not look like the idiots (like Leeds in September) who decided the league is already over and we're already up...

Why is this still a sticky lol
