CARDIFF CITY ARE FUMING AS THEY REPORT DERBY COUNTY

VINCE ALM:

Derby gate it gets better! Just spoke to Ken Choo and he is fuming. He said the club are appealing to the EFL regards the calling off of this fixture and has spoken to the Football league, and directors at Derby FC.

One of the Directors Ken spoke to told him that the reason the Safety Advisory Group called the game off, was not because of safety concerns in the stadium or on the pitch, not because of safety concerns to supporters in and around Pride Park, not because of issues of Cardiff City supporters travelling from South Wales (who were enduring the Blizzard conditions, and heavy snowfall similar to what Derby had the evening before)

But... Some of their supporters could not get off their drives to attend the game meaning they would not get a capacity crowd!!! Where is the safety issue there? if you can't get off your drive you can't get off your drive? Supporters live all around the UK for most clubs if that was the case there would be fixtures cancelled every week during winter! You think of the snow that the valleys have through winter for our supporters we'd never have a game played based on that decision.

To top it off Derby want the rearranged fixture 17th April knowing we will have 3 away trips on the trot!

You couldn't make it up what has been said today!!!

EFL issue statement following postponement of Cardiff City's Championship clash with Derby County

Sunday 18th March 2018

The English Football League have issued a statement to say they are satisfied with the reasons behind the decision to postpone Cardiff City's Championship clash with Derby County.

The game was called off due to snow, although confirmation of the postponement wasn't made official at 8:30am on Sunday, just three-and-a-half hours prior to the scheduled kick-off time of midday.

Fans travelling from South Wales were left furious with the decision to call off the game while Neil Warnock branded the announcement as a "disgrace" and "scandalous" .

The snow around Derby County's Pride Park stadium as the game against Cardiff was postponed
But the EFL have stated that they accept the reasons behind the decision not to allow the fixture to go ahead.

"The decision to postpone this afternoon’s fixture between Derby County and Cardiff City was made first thing this morning following discussions between Derby County, Derbyshire Police and the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG)," a statement read.

"It was taken in the interests of spectator safety following heavy overnight snow falling in the Derby area which had built up on the roads surrounding the stadium. Cardiff City were informed of the decision and the reasons behind it as soon as it was reached.

"An announcement was made at 8.30am and the EFL is satisfied from the information shared that these were the reasons the match was postponed & will provide Cardiff City with the opportunity to provide any additional information they feel is relevant, before responding further."

Almost 3,000 fans were expected to pack out the away end at Pride Park as the Bluebirds went in search of their eighth consecutive league victory.

Despite the postponement, Warnock's men remain seven points clear of Fulham and Aston Villa while they have a game in hand over the other sides in the automatic promotion race.

A date for the rearranged game against the Rams is yet to be announced, although it is likely to be played in the week before or after the Bluebirds host Nottingham Forest at Cardiff City Stadium on April 21.

We as fans have been taken for a ride along with the players and staff and the ELF needs to look at it and come to a conclusion ASAP.

We as a club have nothing to gain but now we have another mid week away game to fit in and I hope Derby get a points deduction as per happened to Middlesbrough a few seasons ago.

As far as I’m concerned, Derby did not do anything in their power to get this game on. Snow stopped in early hours so could’ve prepared easily in the morning. Roads were clear anyway so that wasn’t a problem.

Unbelievable. If the EFL turn a blind eye to this blatant cheating then they will set a precedent that will give clubs the same opportunity whenever it suits.

Sadly we aren’t high profile enough as the “victim” club for anything to happen and IMO will pay a heavy price due to the revised fixture list.

The precedent thing was one of the many issues I raised in my email to them yesterday... Sadly, we all know it will fall on deaf ears and they have got away with cheating us and our travelling fans and the other teams involved in the promotion race.

Total disgrace what happened yesterday. Derby clearly cheated. Hope the game is rearranged for w/c 23/4 and how sweet would it be to win promotion that evening while knocking another nail into their play offs coffin at the same time.

It would'nt surprise me if there are other clubs who ask the EFL to hold a full investigation into why this game was called off. There is no doubt that we appear to have lost an advantage with this cancellation, but we are 14 points clear of Derby with 9 games remaining. No one with an ounce of sense would realistically expect Derby to finish above us this season.

But after Saturdays result Derby found themselves just 2 points above dropping out of the playoff places and just 4 points above 10th spot. Gary Rowett talked about us being under pressure because we had something to lose, REALLY, compared to his team we are in gods pocket, and the truth is Derby simply could'nt afford to lose the game yesterday, and in fact it was probably a must win game for them. In April Derby must play Preston, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Wolves and Villa, and they think we have a hard run-in.

In my opinion the EFL must hold an FULL enquiry into this cancellation because the reasons behind it appear unacceptable and benefit only one club, Derby County, and that goes to the core of the integrity of the Competition if they get away with it.

We have the perfect owner in this situation. There is no way Tan will take this lying down and we will take Derby and the EFL to court if we have to

I suggest every member of the forum fill up their mail box with an email demanding a full investigation which takes all evidence into consideration not just the information provided by the cheaters.

I don't see us taking anyone to court. Why would we ? We have nothing to gain. The game will have to be played and although its seems completely unfair we'll play the best team they can field at the time. Clearly there's skullduggery here and if the EFL can establish that, then they will hit Derby hard. Probable points deduction, compensation for Cardiff and maybe, just maybe a lit bit for the long suffering fans. I wont be holding my breath on the last bit.

If the FA did along those lines, finding against Derby and we ultimately lose out on promotion as a consequence of losing to Derby in the rearranged fixture then who knows what Vinnie does.

I think there may well be little chance the EFL will come down hard on Derby but if the club kicks up enough of a fuss then we might get our own way on the scheduling of the rearranged game; and that would be after the Forest game to suit us better than creating a fixture pile up around some particularly tough games.

If anyone has an email done or ready, it may be worth sending something to talksport, the bigger the fuss and the more people who know, the more likely the EFL are to do something at least?

Derby County need to come clean on this. The EFL statement will be effectively what information Derby sent them. If this was in anyway fabricated then Derby have been caught red handed and as soon as they front up the better for everyone. The police wont be part of it cause the whole was nonsense. I'm so f....ing angry over this.

If the EFL has released a statement confirming the Police advice, but the Police are advising of no such advice. Then DCFC surely have lied, made a decision up based on no actual advice. :happy1: :happy1:
