Latest statement from Derbyshire Police

Tuesday 20th March 2018

Latest statement from Derbyshire Police we’ve had...

“We certainly had dialogue with the football club’s safety team during the days building up to the scheduled fixture, as did various other agencies.
“It was their decision to call off the game. We were made aware shortly before the announcement was made.”
We’ve also got more from Derby City Council who now say they were “fully supportive” of Derby County’s decision.

But councils sag did not call game off derby did and wasn't aware they have the authority to do so without consulting efl and getting permission of them Which obviously they didn't? Said before sounds like derby told various people they were calling game off which is not same as consulting with them.

Stinks of a massive cover up and wouldn't be surprised overnight the FL and Derby have been in cahoots with Police and Council to all sing from same hymn sheet.

Football is so corrupt these days

Not really as sag did not call game off derby just told them they were calling it off and sag just agreed! wasn't aware that a club can do that without permission of efl 1st? But looks like derby are trying to worm way out of it, think late April will be new game with derby getting slap on wrist for bad precedures as way of comprimise to satisfy both clubs

Surely doesn’t matter now, now they have stated they fully support the decision EFL on public safety grounds will be happy. End of. We get shafted everyone else is happy!

Probably right but still doesn't answer question that derby called game off when not allowed to? Sag only agreed which is not same as them calling it off? Only sag or police have authority to call it off without consulting efl derby don't.

24th April for fixture to be replayed suggests there is some sympathy for us.

Yes it does but be interesting to see what efl does with new info from sag? Feeling it will give opt out from punishing derby heavily :old:

Nothing was ever going to come of this. We all know football is corrupt from the top down. At least honest Sepp is no longer involved in the game, not for another five years anyway. I suppose we will have to keep our corrupt officials, if we get rid of them there will be no-one left to run the game. Maybe bring Chuck Blazer to run the game in England, he is deceased, corrupt and has a silly name, the ideal candidate.

Yes after 2 days of all sorts of statements they finally appear to have got it right. After publicly stating they had nowt to do with it they are now publicly stating they fully support a decision they had nothing to do with?? And the police obviously are supporting the conversations in the days prior.

Yet all were more than happy to get a game on in worse conditions 2 weeks prior. It stinks but the EFL now appear to have a supported statement-ish, unless Cardiff can still contradict this, so it depends how far it is pushed. Now we have a decent replay date I think that may be that.

its irrelevant what they say now, IF on the day they said its safe enough for busses and trains to run.
Then its safe enough to get to the stadium.

They are allowing public transport to work, so are saying they can provide a safe journey.

end of any argument and cover up they try.

thank you very much
