Cardiff City manager reveals dressing room spat with defender
By Daniel Pentland

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he had a war of words with centre-back Sol Bamba at half time of his side’s 2-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Ivorian defender was replaced by Bruno Manga in the 34th minute of the match after getting injured throwing his body in the way of a shot.

When speaking to Wales Online after the match, The Bluebirds boss Warnock admitted that he was annoyed with the manner of Bamba’s injury and had a heated debate with the player at half time.

Warnock said “It’s an injury he’s had all season.

“I had a bit of an argument with him at half-time because if he’d played a simple ball to Mendez-Laing on the right instead of being Beckenbauer, he wouldn’t have got hurt.

“We had words at half-time and he threw his bat and ball out and that’s great. It’s lovely to have that passion.”

Bamba’s injury did not affect Cardiff City with Warnock’s men going on to net two late goals to win the match. With promotion rivals Fulham having failed to beat neighbours Brentford at Craven Cottage, The Bluebirds leapfrogged the West Londoners back into second place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Cardiff City now hold a significant advantage over The Whites with The Bluebirds having the luxury of a game in hand on Slavisa Jokanovic’s men. Defender Bamba is expected to be fit to face Nottingham Forest in his side’s next match at the Cardiff City stadium next weekend.

That’s an important point many will be looking to see, and that’s that Bamba should be fit for the next game!

We have a brutally honest manager and team full of characters and fight.

Compare this to when Trollope and Slade were in charge; it's quite a remarkable turnaround.

We may not have the quality throughout the squad as our rivals but the environment that Warnock has created for the players to have the freedom to express themselves so frankly and openly is very special. It seems a very robust and transparent environment.
