MY THOUGHTS: SUNDERLAND FREE FALLING TO LOWER LEAGUES?

Tue Apr 24, 2018 11:24 am

Sunderland, a team that for sure you would not expect to be playing League 1 football but on the weekend decided that this was indeed there fate as the got relegated to League 1.

Here are the key points if you want to see how they do in League 1.

LEAGUE 1 FA CUP
In League 1 teams are expected to face 2 lower league teams before drawing to a Premier League or Championship team, also they have to use there best squad for this competition.

TELEVISION GO BY BY
Sunderland will be playing more but seen less due to the League 1 and 2 competitions, showing no TV coverage for the former Premier League team would not be so bad as they can ideally regroup and restart without the pressure of expecting to win on the Television.

RELEGATION TO LEAGUE 1 TOOK 30 YEARS
As we know this season in the EFL Championship Sunderland have by far been the most disappointing team this season, with high hopes of a speedy promotion back to the premier league, they find themselves sacking managers and this had a domino effect into the whole team and club as the players never knew what to do on the pitch as different formations and systems were used, but now they have a leader in the manager role, the former Wales manager Chris Coleman.
