Neill Warnock’s top flight record

Sat May 12, 2018 10:06 am

It might surprise a few but out of the 1,424 games neill warnock has managed only 121 have been in the top flight of English football (42 old div 1, 79 premier league) thats a massive difference in his lower league games compared to top flight, we all know neill loves it in the lower leagues but he hasn’t really been given a good crack at it, sometimes half a season or just a few games as caretaker manager and just 2 full seasons one with notts county old division 1 and one with sheff utd( tevez season) in the prem and left both after relegation, his record in the top flight reads played 121 won 29 drawn 30 lost 62, just under 25% win ratio and just over 50% loss ratio.

I would like it if we had patience with him and not panic and pull the trigger after a few losses and give him a fair crack at it and if he could keep us up for 2 seasons and consolidate and him to pass the 1500 managed games mark i think he might call it a day then at nearly 72 years of age and go out on a high having had his first back to back seasons in the top flight with no relegations.

His stats for the premier league with a win ratio of 25%, Draw 25% and lose 50% would give us 39 points and would more than likely make us safe from relegation , this season it would have us staying up by 3/4 points.
