Cardiff City are eyeing up an audacious move for rival Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski according to reports from the Media.

72 Football

Monday 21st May 2018.

It has already been reported that Cardiff are interested in signing Sam Johnstone from Manchester United. He is currently on loan at Aston Villa and while they would want to make the deal permanent, it might not be possible they don’t beat Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final and get promoted to the Premier League. But with the deal for Johnstone being in flux, Cardiff are looking at other potential targets.

Cardiff City keen on making move for 25-year-old Man United man: report

Monday 21st May 2018

By Jordon Street

Cardiff City are keen on making a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

That’s according to The Sun, Wales Online, Guardian, with the report stating that Neil Warnock wants to sign the Red Devils shot-stopper.

Johnstone, now 25, has grown massively as a goalkeeper over the last eighteen months with Aston Villa while on loan, and now it looks as though he could get his big Premier League break.

Unfortunately for the Englishman, I just don’t see where he’s going to fit in at Manchester United. With top quality players like David de Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him in the pecking order, you’re always going to face an uphill battle.

Now it’s a waiting game for Johnstone. If Aston Villa get promoted via the play-offs, it looks as though he’ll have two decent offers on the table for him. I’d urge him to stick with Steve Bruce, though; as the former United player has been an integral part of his development.

I just get the impression that the time is right for Johnstone to move on permanently. His value isn’t ever going to be higher for the Red Devils, so cash in now and let the Englishman go out and get week-in-week-out Premier League football.

Salomon Rondon (West Brom)

By Ian Mitchelmore

Tuesday 22nd May 2018

The striker was linked with a £12.5m move from relegated West Brom to the Welsh capital this summer.

Bookies then installed Cardiff and Watford as the 4/1 favourites to secure his services.

So there’s no doubt he’s got the experience of playing at the top level while his physical stature could be used very effectively in a Warnock side, but the asking price could well prove to be a stumbling block

Karanka hints that Lee Tomlin wants Forest return

Thursday 24th May 2018

Lee Tomlin’s future is another issue that needs to be ironed out this summer with Cardiff City letting their mercurial playmaker go to Nottingham Forest on loan in the second half of 2017/18.

And Forest boss Aitor Karanka has been speaking to our colleagues at the Nottingham Post about the loan market and how the likes of Tomlin, Jack Colback and Costel Pantilimon all enjoyed their time at the City Ground.

Aitor Karanka:

"It is a market we will use, yes. It is important to have players like that.
But those players have to be players who can make the difference, just as they did in January.
You have only five loans available, which can be difficult. I need to think about our options carefully. But we will bring in players on loan, for sure.
The main thing for me is that all of them left at the end of the season, all wanting to come back here. It means that they felt really good here; they felt the atmosphere in the changing room and confident on the pitch."

"We will try to do our best, but they (Tomlin, Colback and Pantilimon) are all Premier League players now and our job is to convince them. But as a club and as a manager, we have done our best to convince them to return."

Neil Warnock keen on Everton forward?

24/05/18

Neil Warnock has joked that he wants to sign Everton forward Oumar Niasse, who is reportedly unhappy at Goodison Park right now after an alleged dressing room rift.

I think they should let him go for about £1 million to me, and let me have the problem. Then your dressing room will be perfect!

Salomon Rondon update

29/05/18

Reports are circulating that any potential Cardiff City swoop for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon could be scuppered by the Venezuelan’s wages.

He is allegedly earning £60,000 per week at The Hawthorns, which would be beyond the Bluebirds’ remit.

With Andre Gray the main other striker linked with Cardiff (so far this summer), Warnock may need to re-jig his search for attacking reinforcements.

Cardiff City 'want to keep' Bryson / But Bryson is keen to see what Derby offer him

29/05/18

Respected journalist Alan Nixon is claiming that the Bluebirds are keen on retaining the services of on-loan midfielder Craig Bryson — although the situation could depend on who takes over at Derby County following Gary Rowett’s departure.

Watch this space. We know Neil Warnock is a big Bryson fan.

Cardiff. Want to keep Bryson. But he is keen to see what happens at Derby before turning loan into a permanent.

It looks increasingly likely that Lee Tomlin will spend the 2018/19 season away from Cardiff City, with talks ongoing for either a loan or permanent switch to Nottingham Forest.

The mercurial No.10 is perhaps a better fit in Aitor Karanka’s City Ground team, but do the Bluebirds need to find someone else in that position?

The Bluebirds have opened up negotiations with Mendez-Laing to improve his terms and extend his current deal, according to HITC.
Mendez-Laing was one of Neil Warnock’s gambles last summer, signing on a free after taking significant steps to get his career back on track with Rochdale.

My View: Neil Warnock had one of the lowest budgets in the Championship, in fact 16th and Warnock got us promoted(2nd) :thumbright: I believe Warnock will keep us up and no matter if we are on any bad run next season, fans must back Warnock all the way through good and bad times as Warnock thrives on fans backing him :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

NEIL WARNOCK & VINCENT TAN HAVE DISCUSSED NEW PLAYERS FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE :bluebird:

Neil Warnock, accepts his budget will be limited this summer, but has been satisfied with the talks and owner Tan is understood to be happy with the Yorkshireman's planned recruitment.

Vincent Tan has talked through the budget he has offered Warnock and it is believed Warnock has accepted that the budget for the Premier League won't be as big as many would of thought and is one of the lowest for Premier League Clubs, but Warnock is ready to work with it knowing a number of players will also need to leave City to make way if Warnock wants more than the budget provides.

The Cardiff boss wants five or six players to supplement his current squad and is set to once again utilise the loan and free transfer market. The likes of Salomon Rondon — linked with the Bluebirds in media reports — could be out of reach because of budget restraints.

Vincent Tan is keen to avoid a repeat of the summer of 2013 when the Bluebirds spent a few big fees.

This time Neil Warnock wants mainly British-based experienced players with the aim of defying the odds and keeping Cardiff in the top flight.

£20million for Andre Gray

Cardiff City might have been made favourites to land Andre Gray but the indication is that the Watford frontman would cost a pretty penny.

He has failed to make impact at Vicarage Road but after arriving for £18.5m from Burnley, the Hornets will want to recoup that investment.

Trouble is at that price I can't see a queue of clubs willing to take that risk given that he's still not really proven at Prem level.
