Report: Watford leading West Ham and Cardiff in race to sign Lukasz Fabianski

HITC

Thursday 24th May 2018

Watford, West Ham United and Cardiff City are among the clubs being linked with a move for the Swansea City goalkeeper.

Lukasz Fabianski of Swanea sin action during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Swansea City at Etihad Stadium on April 22, 2018 in Manchester, England.

Watford are leading West Ham United and Cardiff City in the race to sign Lukasz Fabianski following Swansea City's relegation, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report claims Fabianski has informed Swansea of his intention to leave and is confident of a top-flight lifeline.

And while a number of Premier League clubs have been credited with interest in the Polish goalkeeper, only Watford, West Ham and Cardiff are namechecked by the Daily Mirror.

Heurelho Gomes of Watford receives treatment from the medical team during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

But it is Watford who are said to be 'on pole' to land Fabianski in a £4 million deal (pun seemingly unintended), after identifying the 33-year-old as the player they want to succeed Heurelho Gomes as first-choice goalkeeper.

Fabianski spent seven years on the books of Arsenal - whose training ground sits adjacent to Watford's - and could welcome a return to the area.

I'd take Gomes if Fabianski goes to Watford. Would take Fabianski firstly though
