Bookies claim Bluebirds are in the mix for Gareth Barry, BUT

Bookies claim Bluebirds are in the mix for Gareth Barry, but move for Andre Gray looks unlikely -

Cardiff City are in the running to sign West Bromwich Albion veteran Gareth Barry, according to the bookies.

BetVictor have priced the Bluebirds at 4/1 to land the midfielder, just behind Barry's former club Aston Villa at 7/2.

Given the current financial difficulties emerging from Villa Park this week, it's not inconceivable that Cardiff, who can also boast Premier League football, could move ahead in the pecking order, which includes Stephen Gerrard's Rangers at 6/1.

Barry controversially triggered a new one-year contract at the Hawthorns two months ago, but events off the pitch have caused many Baggies fans to turn against the midfielder, who was fined for allegedly hijacking a taxi with three other first players during the club’s training camp in Barcelona earlier in the season.

Whether Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock would be tempted top give him another go in the top flight remains to be seen.

Would prefer Whitts back than this sideways passing slowcoach. No chance that Warnock would want him for our high tempo game.

A bit too old, but for the Premier league we need a player of that type , someone like Joe Allen, Lucus Lieva, Gary Medel, just need to find him !!

He would probs sit just in front of the defense breaking up play to start the counter attack.

How much would Scott Brown from Celtic cost, that's the type of player we need.

We deffo need a defensive midfielder I think if we are willing to spend let’s say around 6-7mill on one then Ignacio Camacho could be a good shout currently at Wolfsburg. Wages could be a problem as well I guess but he would be a great fit.

This is the type of player I’d like us going in for not people like Barry and the usual names being dropped, someone who could possibly be sold for more if relegated.
