Aston Villa remains in crisis over 24 hours after chief executive Keith Wyness was suspended and an investigation launched over a huge bust-up with owner Tony Xia.

It's the latest development after a week of rising fears over the club's stability.

Yesterday we reported that Villa will not be going into administration and are confident of solving their cash-flow crisis.

Owner Xia has received positive news that a loan has been approved.

He has managed to source £2m from China and borrowed a further £4m to help cover with the costs in the weeks ahead.

It’s understood that Xia is doing everything possible to keep hold of the club he purchased in 2016 having invested over £150m.

Several leading football finance experts have backed up claims from sources close to the club who are adamant Villa's current crisis will not see them file for administration.

They need to sell players and quickly but even "£ 20 million will only buy them a few months. You just cant see the income stream sufficient to keep the club afloat at the moment. Administration by xmas looks increasingly likely. That or the current owner practically gives the club away to someone willing to finance the outgoings while they turn things around. Could be a good bet for relegation next season with a much weaker squad and a very possible 12 points deduction.

That 40m price tag on Grelish is no coincidence. If they sell him it will fund a modest promotion campaign. Give Bruce the chance to prove he can manage without loadsa cash.
