It’s a shame he’ll never play in the Premier League, to see how he fared compared with Ronaldo in that league.

Obviously been very successful in Spain, but I’ll always wonder how he’d get on in another league.

Always seems to struggle in the World Cup, which is odd because he’s done it against the best in the Champions League.

Don’t get into the argument over which of Ronaldo or Messi are better, rather just enjoy watching them both play football.

Brilliant player, absolutely shit pen taker and always has been if I was his teammate their is no chance I would let him take it. Can’t handle the pressure at the World Cup with Argentina one of the reasons he will never be as good Maradona or Pele.

Comedy gold

Messi is a freak of a player with an almost unique skill set.

During his pomp he was the vanguard of the La Masia academy that schooled a way of playing that exploited every sinew of that skill set. Ably assisted by Xavi & Inestia and a host of other greats the super tight space and amazing control that the tiki taka philosophy exploited all of Messi's attributes.

He is undoubtedly a great player but not one of the all time greats as he hasn't been able to demonstrate outside the Barca way.

Maradona picked up crap clubs and the national team and made them winner, so has Ronny. Until Messi can do that he is just a great player but not a great to me.

the argument is now moribund. Cristiano the best player of his generation. It always made me laugh the idea perpetuated that Messi was somehow a more humble guy on the pitch than Ronaldo.

Aguero would of gone on to score a hatrick if he could step-aside
