WHAT'S GOING ON AT CHELSEA?

19/06/18

Now, a number of transfer deals are dependent on Chelsea clarifying their managerial situation in the coming days.

Eden Hazard, who has spoken of interest from Real Madrid, says he's awaiting an announcement from the Stamford Bridge hierarchy on the future of Antonio Conte before thinking any further about a move to the European champions.

The possible departures of David Luiz and Willian and the signing of Jean Michael Seri remain in the balance until the identity of Chelsea's manager for next season is known.

Reports across Europe suggest Napoli coach Mauricio Sarri could team up with former Stamford Bridge favourite Gianfranco Zola to succeed Conte.

We're told there's been no contact from Chelsea towards Sarri or Zola and that won't happen until Conte's situation is resolved.
There's also potentially the issue of compensation. Napoli want £7m to release him from his deal, which expires in 2020.

A lot must depend on Abramovich's situation. The new stadium is on hold. Last I heard is that he's now got an Israeli passport, which means that he does not need a visa for short visits to Britain. Everything seems to be up in the air at the moment.

Don't seem to be able to compete with the 2 Manchester Clubs anymore, and can no longer attract the world class talent that they used to. In all honesty the only top class players they have now are Courtois, Kante, and Hazard, with 2 of them looking to leave Chelsea. Think they need to re-evaluate where they're going as a club and what their philosophy is like Liverpool and Spurs have done over the past 5 years.
