They were shit Metrovic, without him they may not have even made the playoffs.

He was certainly the Championship signing of the season :thumbright:

Marginally ahead of Madine, of course! :laughing6:

He's class and perfect for us, not poor old Madine :laughing6:

Fulham are preparing a club-record bid for Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro, after an opening offer of £12m was rejected.

The Cottagers, who like Wanderers are planning for life back in the Premier League, appear very keen on the Portuguese winger and are ready to submit a bid of £14m to test the old gold resolve.

Cavaleiro, still only 24, enjoyed a particularly productive season individually last year.

The swashbuckling attacker combined well with newcomers Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota in a front three for the large part of the season, and he himself netted nine Championship goals and created 12 more in 42 Championship matches as Wolves stormed to the title.

Now Fulham, who dumped Aston Villa out of the play-offs for another crack at the top flight, are yet to make a signing but are on the hunt for permanent deals of former loan stars Aleksandar Mitrovic and Matt Targett.

It appears that they’re eager to pursue a deal for Cavaleiro too. Huddersfield Town have also been previously credited with an interest.

Wolves, who have completed the signings of Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez and handed permanent contracts to four of last season’s loan stars, made their stance rather clear by turning down the Londoners’ advances with the first offer and are expected to turn any further interest away.

I think Fulham should do reasonably well this season. They appear to have plenty of money, and being based in London may find it easier to attract players than us. Plenty of time to get their squad strengthened, and I can see some wheeling and dealing on the horizon once the WC is over. They were certainly a good footballing side last season, and deserved to be promoted.

We have spent about £25 million (excluding add ons) to strengthen our squad. They may have been the best footballing side in the division last year and certainly the form team. But they need to spend at least that amount to replace Fredericks and sign Mitrovic permanently. i.e £25 million just to stand still.

Agree theyv gone backwards at the min and are no where near as good without these two players.

The way Warnock and Tan have strengthened our squad has to be admired. I would hate to be a Fulham fan right now after losing key players and being sluggish to start their summer transfer business.

Anyone know when the window shuts? August?

Yes. Window closes before the start of the season this year.

As proven last year, the benefit of getting your business done early and all having pre season together really, helps you get off to a flyer! Let's hope others keep stalling and have sluggish starts.
