West Brom winger Matt Phillips is at the centre of a three-way fight for his signature ahead of the new season.

Cardiff are showing a serious interest in the attacker and are plotting an £11million move.

But Newcastle are also showing an interest in the Scotland international, whose future is in doubt following the Baggies' relegation last season.


Championship side Middlesbrough are the third club understood to be keen on taking Phillips ahead of next season.

The 27-year-old has vast top-flight experience and was regular for WBA last season.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is keen to add further Premier League experience to his ranks as he looks to build a squad capable of staying up, while Boro boss Tony Pulis knows all about Phillips having worked with him at the Hawthorns.

But it remains to be seen whether West Brom will entertain selling Phillips, who could prove vital to the Baggies' tilt at promotion.*

The Bluebirds are reportedly in a three-way fight with Newcastle and Middlesbrough for West Brom winger Matt Phillips.

The Daily Mail say the Bluebirds are showing serious interset in the player, with Neil Warnock keen to add more experience to his ranks.
