Every first team player is expected to have some time :thumbright: :bluebird:

The whole squad have travelled to Cornwall, and these fixtures will see First Team players get minutes.

Cardiff City vs Bodmin Town team news:

First team star poised for return as Bluebirds continue pre-season tour

Neil Warnock will ring the changes for Cardiff City tonight as they face Bodmin Town at Priory Park (7pm kick off).

Sol Bamba is expected to make his pre-season bow, while goalkeeper Alex Smithies is in line for a Bluebirds debut after signing this summer from Queens Park Rangers.

Loic Damour, Kadeem Harris, Joe Bennett, Jazz Richards, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Danny Ward and Matthew Connolly are all expected to start after playing the final 30 minutes at AFC Tavistock on Monday night.

Those who played the full 90 minutes against the Lambs - Neil Etheridge, Joe Ralls, Bruno Manga and Callum Paterson - aren't expected to be named in the starting XI.

The game comes too soon for Aron Gunnarsson and Kenneth Zohore , the former is still recuperating from his World Cup campaign with Iceland while the latter hasn't taken part in pre-season training yet due to the birth of his child.

It means Gary Madine may get another opportunity to lead the line.

Fringe players Omar Bogle and Stuart O'Keefe - who have travelled down to the South Wales but haven't yet played for either the senior side or the Under-23s this week - could make an appearance for the Under-23s at Porthleven on Thursday night.

Tickets for Adults cost £10, and still available.

Last season's game against Bodmin saw Damour score his only two Cardiff goals to date, one a screaming effort from distance.

Zohore also scored in that game. The Bluebirds wrapped up a 3-1 victory after being well tested by a decent Bodmin side, who finished fifth in the South West Peninsula Premier League last season, below Tavistock (2nd) and above St Austell (6th).

Possible Cardiff City XI: Smithies; Richards, Connolly, Bamba, Bennett; Mendez-Laing, Damour, Reid, Harris; Ward, Madine

What an odd game. Nothing to get out of It, playing with one recognised midfielder and 3 wingers

It’s great to get a hatful or goals but not really sure what preparation there is to get from it

Think it’s gone passed the level of confidence now, it’s getting silly.

Fitness yeah ok, but friendlies should be about playing towards a system and a routine we will stick too, how are we even lining up today with Harris Murphy and nml all on the pitch.

Get the fitness first. I get your point, but is there much point having many defensive minded players on the pitch when our attackers will have most of the ball? Give them the goals they crave, feed the egos!

Work on the system in training. Remember we have some 'bigger' friendlies coming up where that can be out in to practice.

More about fitness than anything at this early stage. Nothing more than an extended training session in reality, result almost irrelevant. I used to enjoy pre- season warm up games. Did'nt need to worry about getting stuck in too much, but could feel the fitness benefit the more games we played. Much preferred them to the normal Tuesday & Thursday evening training sessions.

It’s just about fitness nothing else.

That’s the whole point of pre season get fit again.

Yeah I’m not outraged or anything - not a big deal.

Players don’t come back two stone overweight like they used to mind, the majority stay on a level and just need that sharpness really. Still, I’d preferred us to play some form of system that represents how we will line up this season (unless of course this is?!) but it’s not a big deal, ralls and Paterson back in for Torquay no doubt

Paul, I just looked at this fixture from last year. We won 3-1 and I believe we lost one of the halves.

For me that is a good comparison even if we forget the score.

Paul do you forget we have Burton, Rotherham and Real Betis for them types of games.
