This will be the first top-flight meeting between Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

Bournemouth have lost just one of their last eight league clashes with Cardiff (W4 D3), with their last meeting coming in March 2015 in the Championship (1-1).

Bournemouth won 5-3 the last time they hosted Cardiff in a league match, back in December 2014. Matt Ritchie gave the Cherries the lead after just 39 seconds.

Bournemouth have lost all three of their matchday one Premier League fixtures, the worst such 100% losing record in the competition.

Cardiff have lost just one of their last 10 opening fixtures to a league season (W5 D4), though this came in their only previous Premier League campaign (0-2 vs West Ham in 2013-14).

This will be the eighth consecutive season there has been a Welsh side in the English top-flight, the joint-longest such run in Football League history (also 1921-22 to 1928-29).

In their previous Premier League campaign, Cardiff won just two of their 19 away games. However, one of those wins came on the south coast (1-0 vs Southampton).

This will be Cardiff manager Neil Warnock’s first match against Bournemouth since October 1999 when he was Bury manager (2-2 in the third tier). In total, he’s won five of his 10 previous meetings with the Cherries (D4 L1).

Disappointed to see us playing 3 at the back, don't think it's ever really worked for us. Let's hope it does this time :bluescarf:

I think home advantage will help Bournemouth - going for a 2-0 home win.

We need to dig in and keep battling to half time, Patterson looks totally lost at the moment

It took Lee Peltier all of 3 minutes to get his first booking of the season... interesting lineup (being diplomatically sarcastic)

If that's a penalty well be lucky to finish most games with 8 men

Pathetic decision but again manga involved in the build-up he failed to run with Campbell for the goal he looks out of his depth :old:

Called it with Patterson in the other thread. He won't know where he's playing. Can afford to have him 'float' with 4 at the back and an extra man in midfield. Not working today.
