“ Lack of interest in Cardiff City's outcasts “

Many of the media stories saying City had offered £10mill/£15mill for certain players have all been denied by Neil Warnock, Warnock has used up his small budget and has lately only been looking for loan players whilst trying to ship out at least six Cardiff players.

You have to feel for Neil Warnock as he has the lowest budget in the Premier League.

Cardiff have done a much better job sorting out the budget in recent years, but this time there are still players they need to get off the books to free up wages for players Neil Warnock wants.

With players like Lee Tomlin on £30,000 plus a week and players like Anthony Pilkington on £20,000 plus a week, plus a few more players who are not in Neil Warnocks plans, Warnock knows he has to move these type of players on to be able to afford to pay good wages to strengthen his squad.

They will be hoping to shift one or two out in the next couple of days, but first there needs to be interest from other clubs to pay their wages.

Lee Camp is expected to move out on loan this week, Bolton were interested but Camps wages were to high, Birmingham are now favourites to take Camp on loan.

Stuart O’Keefe also needs to find a club.

Warnock has put players like Lee Tomlin with Cardiff City’s DVP.

Birmingham City have completed the signing of @OmarBogle9 on a season long loan.

The striker, who returns for his second spell at the Club, joins from Cardiff City

As things currently stand, one can fully understand how the bookies have us down as odds on for an immediate return to the Championship. We look like on paper that we are lacking ambition and that is not Neil's fault, but with the lowest budget in the PL we were always going to struggle to get PL quality in.

There are a few days left though and hopefully Tan will give Neil the nod and who knows things can change very quickly.

John McGinn from Hibernian looks real quality and Huddlestone will add experience if the rumours are true and we go for him. Negredo is also a possibility and will give us something extra. Who knows, but we might end up with players that have not been linked at all - or perhaps no more players. :banghead:

There is hope though, because the loan window is up to August 31st apparently. :thumbright:

Even the papers get it wrong! After the 9th. We can not get any players in, no loans are allowed only to loan out till the 31st. When the window closes everywhere , but the premier. the only ones we can get in is out of contract players, but when the window closes on the 9th. Teams have to name their 25, so it will be a bit pointless getting anyone in as they could not play in the premier as they would not be named in the 25

Given no midfielders coming in at the moment you would have to keep hold of Tomlin and Pilks.

Lee Camp set to join Birmingham

Omar Bogle completed his loan move to Birmingham City yesterday.

And goalkeeper Lee Camp looks set to join him in making the move to St Andrew’s.

He was omitted from the Bluebirds’ squad list on the Real Betis matchday programme, and given that Brian Murphy recently signed a one-year contract extension while Cardiff also brought in Alex Smithies, it’s difficult to see Camp having a future at Cardiff City Stadium.

A loan deal looks set to be comp

Suspect the position with both players is that we are holding onto them as emergency midfielder and striker options should we fail to bring any one in by deadline day (Pilks preferred to Bogle). If we do bring players in and have time to move them on by deadline day we will but otherwise will end up trying to loan out both to EFL clubs by 31st with us almost certainly ending up paying some of their weekly wages. Fully expect Tomlin to go back to Forest. Other potential option available to us would be to sell them to an overseas club as their window is open until 31st but can't see any interest there.
