Shouldn't be banned but should be required to take them off in government locations such as airports , polling stations , job centre etc..

If you think Boris gives a toss about the Burka then your sadly mistaken , his statement was all about political posturing and straight out of the trump playbook .

Say something moderately offensive and the average voter will think " I like this guy , says what we are all thinking "

Trying to survive from Bowel Cancer and being hard of hearing is no joke.
But maybe you can find one.

At no point did I see anyone here making a joke about deafness here or am i missing something.
Granted that a joke has been made about the situation but surely that is different
I prefer to think that as a deaf person you were treated the same as everyone else on here which to my mind is true equality which is what Most want to see here.
I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles with cancer as well as putting up with the affliction of hearing disability and i'm sure everyone here feels the same.
I think you have a valid point and deaf people should not be excluded in society ever.

Your reply I feel deflected from the point and stopped genuine responses to your point as people dont want to be drawn into a conversation about your disability.

Good luck with the treatment. Great point about the lip reading as it's something i had never considered before.

I really do not have any thoughts about the Burka, however interesting that when there is a crisis in govt any govt will look for scapegoats in the past single mothers/gypsy travellers and now Muslim women :laughing5:

I don't think its even a debate mate, it's unacceptable to cover your face in public in our country/society for a number of reasons.

I don't think its even a necessity in their religion (happy to be corrected, I'm no expert).

I don't think many people are bothered by the Hijab or Dupatta but the Burka and and Niqab have no place in an open society.
